Huw Edwards #16

He has a degree in French apparently. He'll probably flee to Paris with as much money as he can and where he isn't known and start up his predatory behaviour all over again.
They usually go to places like Cambodia.

He'll be able to take the millions paid from license payers and set up a complex for him outhere

"The bail conditions of disgraced BBC newsreader Huw Edwards have been revealed – and reportedly include a ban from unsupervised contact with children.

Edwards, 62, faces sentencing in September after pleading guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children.

The newsreader has been granted provisional bail and warned that ‘all options’ are on the table for his sentencing on September 16 – including an immediate jail term.

According to court records as seen by Sky News, one of the conditions of Edwards’ bail is that he is not allowed unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18. Any contact he does have with children must be under the direct supervision of an adult who knows about his offences.

Edwards is forbidden from the use of any devices which don’t record internet history – and any internet-compatible devices are to be made available for police inspection upon request.

This reportedly also includes a ban on any online communication apps, forbidding him from talking to anyone under the age of 16

That's all very well, but phones in prison are rife where they aren't allowed. So I'm sure he'll have no problem hiding a device or using a hidden dodgy app that can be wiped

Those conditions are also the ones that will be part of the register/SHPO as he will be a registered sex offender and presumably Police will apply for SHPO once they know what he's been sentenced to and know how long he'll be registered for.

Ugh, somehow I feel like prison wouldn't necessarily be a punishment to him as it would to others. An excuse to be in close quarters around many (young, unstable) men?

Better make him a pariah in the outside world without access to his beloved social media and dating apps and without his reputation and prominence. That would be a real struggle.
Sex offenders wing is a really easy life in there apparently, but he'd be housed with the wrongest of the wrong uns. For mere mortals that would be awful knowing the type of person you are classed as, but for a narc like him I'm sure he'd still feel superior. So I agree, rejection in the outside world would hurt his ego a lot more.

I found this DM article quite bizarre. It starts off ok with some friends telling the DM Huw never let on his depravedness to them. Then it goes on to imagine a world where Huw hasn’t done what he’s done. o_O

I am watching the Queen's funeral again because I feel sad, and was stupidly surprised to hear HE come up. I suspect they will be recording over his lines, but the good news is that after the shock it stopped registering it was him because the event was about Her Majesty, not him.

They switched to David Dimbleby, who spoke with much more authority, with Kirsty Young offering emotional support at the end. It was comforting really to realise HE really did just read an autocue and isn't that special or important.

The Dimbleby’s were THE voices for big events. I’m old so it’s them I still think of as the BBC official voices. Huw Edwards in my mind was still a newbie, even though he wasn’t. I think I read years back that David Dimbleby was put out when he was sidelined for HE. Last October’s State Opening of Parliament was awful. They were obviously scrambling to put together a decent panel having lost their main man HE, it was so weak that I’ve seen better on Loose Women 😅 They’ll need to put decent commentary in place incase there’s another funeral or big event and not Clare Balding, Alex Scott and JJ Chalmers who they keep stuffing in all tv programmes 😂

I was always under the impression that David Dimbleby had retired, I didn’t realise he’d been sidelined. He did do a bit of the Queens funeral when her coffin got to Windsor.

Lots of articles on the BBC Wales site still up where he’s been interviewed after big events, a question and answer article and more. Why are they still up?

Because they haven't got around to taking them down yet. They're going to need to have them redubbed I suspect and to be honest he hasn't been on TV for a year (I think?) so it's not like it's new stuff a lot of people will be looking for.
