You’re condemning a TV programme which you haven’t even seen yet. Were you one of those who condemned Brass Eye’s Paedogeddon without even watching it?
I love Brass Eye.

It’s TalkTV, it’s hardly a stretch to believe that they’ll want the gory details rather than an interesting documentary about living with loved ones in active addiction.

I don’t think I’m being unreasonable to say that the child AND the parents should be protected from this.

I’m Assuming that Huw is still paying their child? Since they are having to do a tv interview about it?
I get the impression that the interview would have been filmed somewhat recently, probably before the HE statement. They may still be angry from the whole lawyer thing too even though we don’t have confirmation on what has happened there and it’s a bunch of assumptions

If that’s the case, it may suck for the parents because they may not have the power to request TalkTV not to release the documentary

The cronies coming out in defence of HE, like soppy Sopel, who's been all over all news channels today portraying him as a saint and John Simpson, haven't expressed one word about the young persons involved. Or breaking covid. Or texting threatening messages. Whereas if it had been for example Jeremy clarkson, they would be all over it, condemning him as preying on vulnerable people. It's the double standards and hypocrisy that gets me.

I’m baffled that the likes of Sopel and Maitlis have come out so publicly in support of HE before (it seems) we’ve even scratched the surface of misconduct allegations that are brewing. They must be awfully confident nothing is going to come back and bite them.

TalkTV (the Sun on TV) are now apparently paying them at least in excess of 10,000 for an interview..
I've posted this above. This is from the Guardian piece with the misleading headline. It's not clear if the parents have been paid.

"A source at News UK said the Sun had not made any financial payment to the couple but confirmed that TalkTV was speaking to them as part of a planned three-part documentary series. The television channel has a reputation for paying large sums of money to secure interviews.

The parents, who have not been publicly identified, could not be reached for comment."

no, the guardian reported that they had been offered tens of thousands which isn’t the same as accepting it.

Has this actually been confirmed? The way the original line of that was worded did leave open the possibility that they could have still been paid for that story, we also don’t know if the Sun may have paid for the further stories/responses they published concerning the parents

If it’s not been confirmed that they have not been paid by The Sun it’s very 50/50 imo
The Guardian reported that the Sun had NOT paid the parents.

Ah so the parents are only going TalkTV for a satirical swipe at media journalism... got it...

I’m sorry but I have no idea what your point is.

The point that I was making was that condemning a TV programme before you’ve even watched it (and in this case, not only that but also before it’s even been made) can lead to you looking extremely foolish. The most infamous example of people doing this being Brass Eye.

Three parts? What the hell have they got to fill that sort of time?
