If he did know of the guy’s drug problem that’s very low. Enabling this guy whilst having his pleasure with the sexual content he bought.

The MH card with a message delivered by the loyal wife is low too. Did she know about his gay / bi side and tolerate it like PS’s Missus probably did?

I pity the parents of this guy and commend them. I hope their son can recover from this ordeal and get on a healthier life path.

Huw will rear his head at some point bht his career is fortunately over. What about his marriage? His wife would be a fool to stand by him long term.

I really can't stand scoff, even before all this came out but it's interesting to see the completely different reactions to both, I mean there are differences but generally it's the same sort of thing that both are accused of, questionable relationships/interactions with very young ( but supposed legal) men. I am in no way defending scoff but in his case it was somewhat of a relationship that apparently started when the young man was 20. In Huw's case, I don't know, the paying for dodgy pictures and acts just seems a bit more seedy. There also seems to be much more coming out the woodwork about Huw and since the whole Scoff thing, no one else has come out to say anything against him ( as far as I'm aware). I don't even know what I am getting at here, both clearly abusing a position of power but it seems Huw is getting somewhat more of a pass from others in the industry. I guess Scoff being insufferable beforehand probably didn't help.

honestly, Ive heard from various sources that he messages young men and sleeps with young men.

If it was bisexuality I’d have thought he wouldnt exclusively appear to be hooking up with just men.

so I’m inclined to think he’s gay, and has been in the closet.

I feel heartily sorry for his family - they are the ones facing the shame and humiliation of his actions. Whether what he did was illegal or not, it was certainly very unsavoury and sleazy.

I can almost guarantee he's not in a NHS acute unit, there's no beds and it's really hard to get admitted he wouldnt want to lower himself to spend time with the plebs. He will be in a private unit , paid up and discreet.

YET. Suspect there is a lot more still to come out with Philth. Nobody "resigns" and throws away ALL their presenting gigs that he'd had for decades over one single incident that he tells us was merely "unwise but not illegal". Except somebody that knows that is their only chance of stopping a lot more coming out. But he is for another thread.

Tbf, I genuinely do think there is something wrong with him mentally. Oppositional defiance disorder, cluster-B, something like that. I heard a psychiatrist recently suggest that about 80 percent of people you regularly see on TV have a narcissistic personality disorder. Granted this was in the USA, but it kinda rings true and is quite disturbing given that they have a platform and can potentially influence viewers who don't know any better.

owen jones takes on things… I honestly do think he has some sort of cluster personality disorder. The mental gymnastics he engages in just baffle me.

wouodnt surprise me at all if there was a scandal involving him 10 or 20 years down the line.

mental health in the NHS is critically UNDERfunded , many wards are actually closed because of it - doctors struggle to find beds .

he will have the best private care and lots of protection .

Some top criminal lawyer has just been on a news channel saying the police wouldn't have spoken to Huw in the mental state that he is in and have halted the investigation and stated so far no wrong doing has been found, he also said they will once Huw is well enough speak to him and then they may well re investigate the claims.

I've worked in forensic wards trust me sometimes it's better to get the prison sentence. There's people who have been charged for minor offences who are still under section 10 years later. At least in jail its do your time and release. Hospital its when the clinical team and the tribunal decide its not the easy way out.

Hmmm, depends who you talk to I think. I know a few Iraq War veterans and more than a few people with relatives in Iraq at the time of the invasion. They haven't forgotten. If you mean the well-heeled middle classes, then yes, I imagine they see him as a jolly good egg because he was involved (hilariously hypocritically) in calling out bad press behaviour during the phone hacking scandal (even though he was aware of it at the time - again, it's in the unedited edition of his diaries, which weirdly enough are now out of print in favour of the edited versions.).

As with so much in this whole Huw thing, perspectives come down to class and one's relationship with the Establishment, of which Campbell is part.

But let's put it this way, if people on this thread are still angry about The Sun publishing topless pics of Sam Fox 40 years ago, which many clearly are, they're defo gonna remember Campbell's lies, fatal bullying and dictatorial behaviour 20 years ago.
