For all the people who recommended Koh Lanta what activities do you recommend doing there? I'm thinking of doing the elephant sanctuary and maybe 1/2 other things

Any recs for the Amalfi coast? I'm trying to decide if I should stay in Sorrento or Salerno with day trips to the main towns by ferry?

We stayed in Sorrento and did day trips to Capri, Pompeii, Positano and Amalfi. I've never stayed in Salerno so can't comment on what it's like, but Sorrento is fab and while it can be expensive it is less so than Amalfi or Positano.

Plus one for Sorrento, a great base, you'll get more bang for your buck in accomodation and its a lot easier to walk around that the amalfi towns

We're headed to Kos next week and just saw the news about the wildfires 😢 it looks to be on the other side of the island to where we would be but it's still pretty scary

Has anyone been to Montenegro? I’m looking at going at the end of August / would you recommend it? Looking to go to a place where I can relax as well as get the opportunity to explore a new place.

YES 😍 went last year and LOVED it. Depending on what you want to do Budva (old town area)/Kotor/Tivat areas are good for relaxing, but we loved going to the mountains too and hiking 🙌🏻

Any tips on visiting Mauritius please?
Favourite places to stay/eat? Things to do, etc?
I’ve had people tell me flic en flac is the best place to stay?

Looking for opinions/experiences of both Trieste and Valletta.

Thanks!
I know several people who have been to Valletta and all of them have loved it.

Mauritius is wonderful and so much to do. We stayed in an area called Balaclava just north of the capital. We had 3 day trips organised with the tour operator. One was a boat trip exploring the coral reef around the island- did snorkelling, visited two remote islands off the coast. The other two trips were just us 3 with a tour guide exploring the island. Depending on what you want to do, you can visit temples, waterfalls, the 7 coloured earth, rum factories. The capital is great for shopping and has fantastic botanical gardens. People are really nice and there are 4 main religions and a mix of cuisines. White soft sand, the sea is incredible. One of the best trips we’ve had, I would happily go there again.

Ah, I feel a little better now as I wasn’t sure on what the balance would be like between towns, relaxing and being a little active. It sounds perfect.

We’re about 30 minutes out of Kotor so I’m hoping transport is okay when we’re there. 💖

The roads are good if you want to drive, or the buses there were great 🙂

One thing to know about Mauritius is that the beach on the Western side is now quite degraded. The best place IMO is to stay around Troux aux Biches. Loads of great eating places there and you could also hire a car for days out. I loved Mauritius so much I'm considering moving there in the future :).

Also another vote for Malta - I would avoid going in high summer if possible as it's boiling (40+). I have unfinished business as it was where I went when we unlocked in 2021 and there was a heatwave and also some bus challenges, so I need to go back and finish my sight-seeing!

Hello hello!
Anyone here from Scotland? We've never been, and Mr Mog decided to spontaneously book the Lochness Marathon next month and we have no clue where to stay that doesnt cost an arm and a leg!

Any recommendations? Thank you xxx
