So I've watched Helen for years, Ive been following this tattle because I want to start a YouTube channel and I want my channel to feel like 2016 Helen.. I want to have personality and comedy and apply effort into my videos! Do any of you have tips or suggestions? I'm starting with some lookbook style videos - but what do you enjoy watching ?
I used to watch her main channel but got bored of the constant hauls, so just stuck with her vlog channel for ages - I found it much more interesting to watch daily life but then she made a video saying she was quitting vlogging (clickbait as she was only mashing her channels together and her vlogs were becoming weekly)
I
bleeping HATE it when vloggers put in days like “wednesday” then insert a tiny clip of them having a cup of tea and then cut to “Thursday” and the go “oh forgot to vlog yesterday” it’s like what’s the point putting that tiny
tit in? Who cares? Just leave it out
Helen’s definitely hit the point where she’s become so far from being relatable and has just become really boring. I think we’re all sick of seeing her constantly spending money on useless
tit, dodgy fashion sense and redecorating her house for the hundredth time.
Personally I like more sustainable youtubers these days, and try to follow people who actually want to do good and actually promote good in the world. I still watch people liked Katie Snooks, on and off, I prefer her vlogs to Helen’s and really liked her “shop my wardrobe” video where she would find outfit inspiration online and try and recreate it with pieces she already had in her wardrobe. I thought it was different from people just constantly buying
tit. Kiera Rose is another person Iike watching, her channel is very chill and she’s a big thrifter.
I guess a tip would be to just be you! You’ll find out what your own direction will be somewhere down the line. Just don’t force yourself to be something you’re not, people will see right through it - just like Helen trying to force herself into the sexpert field when it is not at all her forte, it’s just cringe
