Health anxiety #4

I wouldn’t worry or let it panic you too much but if you miss 3 in a row, I would see your GP but even then it may just be a hormonal imbalance.

I’ve been as late as you a few times over the years. I think the more you worry and stress about it, it makes it even later! Try and relax about it and it will arrive!
Thank you ❤
Just to add as well, did you take the pregnancy tests at a minimum 21 days after the last time you had sex?
I have taken two!

Hello!

I have a mini pill question maybe you can help with.

I’m almost a month in taking cerazette mini pill. Not for contraception (I’m sterilised) for heavy periods.

Now the problem is, I’m feeling very low on it. Moods are tit. Headache is awful.

I want to stop taking it, I’d rather heavy periods than feeling like this.

How soon and how long will I bleed for once I stop? Anyone taken it briefly and stopped?

Don’t know whether to just stop, have a withdrawal bleed and wait for my period.

Hi everyone, this is all a bit TMI but everyone on here is always so supportive so I thought it would be the best place to ask. I’m going to put it behind a spoiler because I’m sure not everyone wants to read about my bowels 😂 (although it’s not that bad haha)

I am usually a regular once a day person when it comes to a number two. Over the past few weeks that has probably dropped down to every other day and then in the last couple of weeks/past week more like once every three days. I went today after 3 days and it was very hard, as you would expect with that break, and I’m also certain there was some blood in the stool. Nothing on the toilet roll and it was within the stool rather than on top. Wasn’t bright red but also wasn’t super dark. My grandma died from bowel cancer so I have of course convinced myself I have it. Has anyone had a similar exp? Any outcomes of blood that weren’t cancer? I’m trying to psych myself up to make a drs appt tomorrow but just terrified of getting bad news. I’m also so angry and fed up of being stuck in this never ending health anxiety/symptom cycle

I know how you feel as my dad died of BC so I’m a bit obsessed with my bowel movements. Mine are always different and one minute loose next I’m constipated but I do have external piles. The only times I’ve had a bit of blood is when I’ve been constipated and finally managed to go.

I recently did a FiT test and it came back clear.

Hopefully you will get some reassurance from your GP but I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Ok.. first off did it hurt? When constipated it's quite common to get a tear/fissure from the straining. That would result in fresh blood. What colour was the blood?. Bright red is more near the exit... Dark blood is further up the track.

When you say blood within the stool...what colour are we talking?
I know black tarry stool is what it would look like if it was blood from further up the colon/GI track.

Have you eaten anything within the last 3 days that is red in colour?

As someone else said - red/bright red is usually from lower down the colon and can be caused by constipation/hard stool/straining/internal and external piles/tears.

Have you had any changes in your diet and water in take. Also how old are you?

There are many things it could be that isn't BC such as IBS. IBS-C presents as constipation too.

Honestly, it sounds like your mind is made up! Stop taking it and have the withdrawal bleed :).

I haven't taken the mini but when I stopped another contraceptive pill years ago I usually came on within a few days

Can't sleep.. In a spiral. I have been on the birth control patch for nearly 10 years. No issues at all. Recommended is 3 weeks of use and 1 week off. I have always done 4 weeks of use and 1 week off. No issues. However this year every 2-3 months I seen to have some spotting that is mostly brown, sometimes slightly pink. Never heavy and lasting under 24 hours. Comes in either my 2nd or 3rd week.

Obviously il be up all night googling cancer etc. has anyone had similar on long term use of any birth control?

Hi all, I posted previously regarding a freckle/mole I was concerned about and lo and behold I've been referred to the dermatologist because the doctor agreed it looked abnormal.
My question is, would the derm just look at that one and send me on my way? Or can the appointment be used to look at others 😅

The doctor did look at a few others (all normal) but I didn't mention them all because he was clearly in a rush and he already said he'd refer me so I wanted to get out of there.

Just to quote myself - as I was on a 2-week referral they did a full body check for me. No concerns whatsoever so it feels like a weight off my shoulders.
I was worried they'd think I was a hypochondriac as the freckle was so small but she totally understood why I was concerned and didn't patronise me at all.

so I had my scan following my blood test and my ovaries are all good…and then yesterday I noticed a red patch on my boob around my areola with a raised bump in the centre..could be a blocked pore but doesn’t hurt or itch or anything, but yesterday the red patch was quite big and I could see my capillaries through the skin 😣 then I remembered that that is how inflammatory breast cancer presents 😢😓 I could barely sleep last night…this morning the redness has gone down, I took pics last night and this morning to compare and I’m 99% sure the redness has gone right down, still got a little surface skin bump, don’t think it’s a bit but like I say maybe a blocked pore? But now I’m spiralling over that 😪

I had EXACTLY the same thing earlier this year. Coincidentally I was going to the breast clinic for a lump that turned out to be nothing so I was able to ask about it. The breast nurse said it was just dermalogical aka a spot and that the skin on our breasts is so sensitive that we can often see the capillaries even just from a hot shower. Don’t worry!! It’s absolutely fine but I had the exact same thoughts

Thankyou 🥲 will see if it continues to fade over the next few days, if not will see the dr x

I'm on mini pill and have been for 7 odd years. I was also prescribed it to stop my heavy periods. Once I had to take the morning after pill and was advised to not take my pill for 7 days because too many hormones. By the 7th day my period came horrendously and I bled for a few days. I've been on it for years so may be different to you. Thing is for me it's either the pill, the implant which I got but it pinched my skin constantly and made me bleed or the coil and that's not happening 😂

Inflammatory breast cancer blemishes are actually quite large. As in, takes up a third of the breast, large.

Like you said - it sounds more like a blocked pore!

It doesn’t hurt or feel like a spot I get elsewhere though 🥺 however I do also have an actual spot between my armpit and boob tissue on that side so maybe I’ve been sweating more… trying not to touch it so can’t squeeze it to see if anything comes out. I did have non breastfeeding mastitis once though, which really was over my whole boob, so it would probably look more like that I would have thought

Go to the Doctors and ask for a referral for a colonoscopy. I had things found on mine recently that weren’t BC but still worrying all the same x
