As the funeral was a family event I think PA should attend but further back in the walk.

I think that this Andrew will not appear in official events but will be there for family events may get uncomfortable. Andrew wants to lead - he is another frustrated spare. You could see his happiness yesterday. Also, there is a fine line between family and official events for TRF. We don't care who is present at the Christmas supper at Sandringham, but it is dodgy to say we don't care about who a) attends the Christmas Mass and b) who does the walking - Andrew could attend the Mass, but not do the walking. He can take a discreet seat at family events, but that is not what we are seeing.

Yet again, it seems KC is not firm enough to take the measures that he should to defend the family's reputation. Maybe he is now too old and emotional and his conflict avoidance is rolling the Crown. If so, there are troubles ahead, just with Andrew, not even throwing in the mix the Harkles.

I think they do go to St Barts every ( or most) years.

And they managed to go to James and Alizee's wedding in France. Despite 'Hello' covering it there were no pics of them.

Unlike the Harkles their holidays are just that. Holidays. Not PR stunts.

They may well have been to Pippa's in-laws' hotel in the Caribbean too, but kept it low-key.

Why do people get their knickers in a twist. They were attending a memorial, you know a sad service of remembering and celebrating the life of someone. Lots of people shed a tear so I wish people would stop being so stupid making stuff up to suit their own agenda.

Let me tell you my take on it. If Charles was really badly, there's no chance in hell that Camilla wouldn't have been by his side. Camilla didn't have to go to the service, as Anne attended.

Now let me talk about Andrew. This was a family affair and the family had invited him and Sarah to attend. So they went. The truth is he mixed with JE, but we know nothing else. The truth is Charles mixed with Saville, but he doesn't get the flack that's thrown Andrew's way. He never went to court, he was never found guilty of anything.

Yes. It’s interesting that she used to have a private aftternoon tea with William every Wednesday while at Eton to coach him in the ways of a monarch. She was a wise woman who lived and experienced so much and I’ve no doubt that she knew how fundamentally weak a person KC3 is. Don’t get me wrong, I wish him the absolute best and was terribly sorry to hear he is ill but QE2 knew he does not have the steeliness, determination and commitment that is required. That is why she never truly retired. Prince William has always been prepared for the ‘top job’ and while he doubtless rues the fact that he was born into a gilded cage at times, he has the skills, tenacity and temperament to see it through and be an effective monarch.

I know this is only tarot, but I don't believe William would let King Constantine down just to make a point. There's plenty of other opportunities for William to make the point.
 
The Queen never explained. She didn't issue announcements for everything either.

If no announcememt about William cancelling had been made, would anyone have given a second thought to his non attendance?
We've been informed that other senior royals are sharing out the duties of Charles while he is ill.

The news reports could have said Camilla and Anne represented the King at the service and left it at that.
Instead,
the press (from whom I am sensing a strong anti-William vibe) turn it into a massive thing.

It has stirred up a lot more criticism and conspiracy chat about William and Catherine.

Maybe the Palace are being too open.

It's good that we know about the King and Catherine being ill, but we don't need to have every little thing announced. It just stirs up more bad feeling and encourages the workshy William comments.

I guess the press love Harry because all his antics get clicks. William doesn’t drive the same drama and deals with everything in a mature and measured manner. I presume some sort of announcement needed to be made if he was on the service sheet.

Agree it’s very strange and a bit worrying.
 
Sick of all the royal reporters on tv this morning saying H should get his security as although it was his choice to leave, it wasn't his choice to be born into the RF.

They're saying 'we all know smegz has received many far right threats'.

Show us the evidence then! H just wants the Intel more than security imo
