The BBC are considering Angela Hartnett as his replacement. Isn’t she a woman of a certain age?!

I wonder if they’ll consider partnering John with his wife?

I think Angela would be a good choice personally. She was trained by Gordon Ramsey, owned successful restaurants, and is Michelin-starred, so she knows what she is talking about, unlike Grabby Gregg. She has also presented quite a bit over the years, as well as judging, so she would be a good fit. As for her age, I think she is 59/60 and it would be the chef's kiss if a 'woman of a certain age' got his job.

I have a feeling it might be Lisa though.

Angela is a far better chef than John Torode though. I’ll be interested if they do go down the top chef route (Lisa Goodwin-Allen is another very talented chef of a certain age who is a GBM star) as it will make John the less expert one of the two.

A female presenter is a good idea, would need to be someone relatable / amiable who has some sort of chemistry with JT.

She is terrible, it's all about her and her nuanced delivery trying to be sexual. Her written word is okay in print but she I cannot stand her on the tv

Why not, maybe they could audition actual chefs for the role - voted in better than some dead wood attitude selection process in the beeb

I have a feeling Masterchef might come back revamped with new presenters. I don't mind John Torode - at least he's an actual chef so knows what he's talking about, but I think that he'll be tainted by association rightly or wrongly. Not sure who I'd like to see present it but definitely a good chef probably with some TV experience and if they have another presenter/s, make it someone with food/cooking/restaurant knowledge, not just some random person who worked with fruit and veg!
