Great British Bake Off #3 2022

And poor Maxy, he was laying it on with a trowel going on about what was wrong with her vol au vents. She knew they were wrong. Don’t think he was going to be satisfied till he made her cry. Swine.
Yeah, absolutely no need for that. She knew what she’d done and was clearly upset 😡
I’m getting real second hand embarrassment this series at how badly Noel’s banter is going down. He's not clicking with anyone and you can see some of the bakers willing him to go away!

Someone needs to let the producers know - It. Is. Okay. To. Repeat. A. Previous. Baking. Challenge.
100% this.
We like old favourites, there is just nothing wrong with that. The contestants are all different so it would be different anyway.

As for the spring rolls 🙄 my husband, who has only a passing interest, came in the room midway through that challenge and said 'but isn't this more like Masterchef?'
Quite.

What a disappointing episode. Spring rolls ffs... shame to see Maxi go but tbh nobodies bakes looked particularly appetising this week, or if they did they're weren't that memorable. I still fantasise about Liam's curry goat pie in pastry week from a few years ago! 😋
Yes shame to see Maxi go. She's dine some really good stuff. But who makes filo from scratch? She gave herself a ridiculously time consuming task then didn't execute it properly. Abdul seems to have sneaked into the semi final by just being OK and not rocking the boat. I reckon Janusc absent mindedly ate his spring roll!

Not as uncomfortable as I felt when he wouldn’t let Maxy just get on with it, one or other of them is not good at reading the room.

Spring rolls? How boring.
Did anyone else feel slightly uncomfortable about Noel's obsession with Sandro's leather trousers? Mind you, he shouldn't have been wearing them in a kitchen anyway.

I was really getting odd vibes from Noel this whole season, he seems slightly obsessed with Sandro and maxy. Particularly Maxy! This episode he gave off annoying co worker who is trying to flirt with you but you have to be polite because you're at work. The way he said he was going to come over and touch all her stuff and said random things and she would politely laugh and awkwardly try to get on with things. Just reminded me of a few bad interactions with guys who would not take a hint!

I don't even think he was flirting it just comes off super awkward, and as much as the contestants seem to want him to leave them alone I find myself willing him off the screen too! Matt was a bad addition but I used to like Noel. This season he has been a nuisance!

I was a really cringing at that. She was almost physically backing away from him, trying to read her instructions and think about what she was doing, and he just wouldn’t stop. I feel like he’s quirky comments are just really boring now too.

I'm catching up now. Everything Noel says is so out of place, he must know his humour is landing wrong. I hate seeing him pop up to talk to the contestants!
WTF was with the Prulio Iglesias joke!?!

I feel like its had its day. I know everything has to be *dramatic* these days but I prefer watching them baking something I could possibly attempt or seeing something simple done really impressively.

- Paul is a rude twit and I'd like to see him spend 4 hours on some of the ridiculous show stoppers this year
- Prue is fine but I'm still missing Mary
- Noel and Matt are obviously bored out of their minds and really don't suit the show so it makes it awkward
- I wish they showed more of the final bakes rather than a 2 second clip and then the rest on Paul's face
- I feel like the challenges are so stupid that they're all already defeated and stressed before it's started

Dunno... I just fast forward it the day after now and can watch it in 15 mins 😀

Yes I would really rather watch most of them do well, than most of them make mistakes due to tricky and complicated challenges which are almost impossible given the time frame and heat of the tent. It seems like they want to catch the bakers out these days, rather than show their talent, ingenuity and understanding of flavour used on more *basic* bakes.

Yes!! One internet forum I'm on the people used to be inspired before each week and have a bake made ready to watch with the show. And after some episodes I used to be inspired to try out things at the weekend when I had time. I am in my arse going to make spring rolls this weekend!!
