Decided not to pay the £3000 quote for travel insurance and flew all the way to Florida for 3 weeks. Family now have a hospital bill to settle and want Grandma medically flown home for Christmas. Yes they’ve started a gofundme so everyone else can cover their huge growing bills.

She’s from my home town, saw it in the local press, the stupid cow.
Why does anyone feel entitled to go swanning off to Disneyland Florida when they can’t afford the insurance?

The family defending Disney Nans decision not to pay for travel insurance “she didn’t know she was going to get ill…..you can’t argue with stupid
So she…..
Traveled with her 2 adult unemployed sons and autistic grandson.
The nan has COPD, Artrial Fibrillation - requires lots of meds and inhalers, walking frame or wheelchair at all times.
DM has estimated on average so far that the hospital bill will be sitting at 57k and that she will medically need 130k assisted flight home…The GFM has raised 31k….but the article does mention she owns her own home.

The point of the article was to explain and hope they can gain some public sympathy and raise more cash. All they have done is piss folk off more cause all the top comments are how can 2 unemployed adults(Sons) in their 40’s enjoy a 3 week Disney holiday to Florida?

Says it all about society doesn't it - I'm stuck here working, had 1 week off this year, run my own business paying income tax for myself and my staff, VAT, NI and pension contributions, rates, you name it ..... hand over a small fortune to the Government yearly. And there is an unemployed benefit claiming family holidaying in Florida.

They can duck right off with their tale of woe.
 
I recently flew with my mum who needs assistance to get to and from the gate. It’s faster on boarding but on landing you have to wait until everyone else gets off the plane for the wheelchair to arrive. Unless you’re the other three people who booked SA on the same flight and miraculously regained full use of their limbs to scurry off to passport control as soon as the plane touched down 🙄
 
Oh I hasn’t thought of with the plane 🙈 was thinking of at Disney, not sure how the queues work there for special assistance etc?
 
So so many idiots flying without insurance. Was the daughter who got his with a paraglider too. Imo it's negligent to take kids abroad with no insurance.

My son has quite a serious health condition and in his early years we didn't go abroad as insurance was more than the holidays quoted. I'd NEVER take the chance. Even a broken limb will cost thousands. No one should send them a penny.

Not even for a second do I believe it either.

Anyone donating is absolutely stupid and needs to have their credit cards and accounts blocked quick smart. Going to America where health care is insanely expensive, with no health insurance, is a crazy risk to take. Going to America, with no health insurance, with full knowledge of major pre-existing health conditions, is absolutely insane, off the charts risk taking.
