I dunno, he definitely tried. Hamori did a great job avoiding most of his big punches. I think Khelif caught Carini with that big punch so early on it just destroyed her confidence.

Perhaps he started to get angry when she was landing punches on him.

Good for her - she played a blinder.

My heart aches for both her and Carini, though - they'll never know what might have been.

Presumably he'll beat at least one more woman in the ring, even if only on points, possibly two.

As I understand it from Mr Mice, the winners of the two semi-finals fight it out for gold and silver, the losers battle it out for the bronze.

I watched the match and Hamori did herself proud though she didn’t have a chance of winning. I’m in awe of her physique and bravery. Still hard to believe this is billed as a fair fight. His reach is so big and also he kept leaning on her and knocked her to the canvas several times which must have been exhausting. The thing that really stood out to me was when I saw him from the back he reminded me of my older sons, I’m always amazed by how huge their back and shoulders are since they’ve hit puberty and been in the gym. Hamori’s shape was totally different, that of a fit and well built woman.
The big manly tears at the end were a bit much for me, I was glad I haven’t eaten yet.

it’s the shoulders that really give it away for me too. Especially from the back.

Following on some of my previous anecdotes, I just showed my husband a photo of this person and said this is not a joke but this is who Imane Khelife’s next opponent is. He looked very confused, to which I said, “trust your instinct”, and he said, “that’s a man”.
Logic and reasoning prevails!
