Eurovision 2022

Back from the jury show and thought I share my thoughts and observations!

1. Albania - it was as I expected with ok vocals but the whole staging felt really messy.
2. Latvia - lots of energy, decent vocals and the crowd loved lt.
3. Lithuania- she killed it.
4. Switzerland - one of the surprises tonight but vocals at times were a bit shaky.
5. Slovenia - fun for a few seconds but got boring
6. Ukraine - Obvs the crowd went wild and it was a very decent performance but music wise it‘s not a winner for me.
7.Bulgaria - meh
8. Netherlands - the biggest surprise for me. The staging elevated this song so much! Absolutely loved it.
9. Moldova - crowd went wild again. Absolute banger as expected
10. Portugal - my bf and I nearly fell asleep. Lots of people on their phones. Think it might be better with camera angles but just looking at them in a circle was super boring.
11.Croatia - decent vocals but I was confused by the staging and I think she forgot a part? Or the sound cut out.
12.Denmark - another surprise. Vocal (especially first part) was really good.
13. Austria - as my favorite I knew this could likely only disappoint and it kinda did. Pia‘s vocals were decent but some changes with the backing vocal really annoyed me. However in the recap it seemed to have been not as obvious so I‘m still hoping.
14. Iceland - nice but again quite boring tbh
15. Greece - this sounded quite bad in the arena but on tv it should sound amazing. Wasn‘t a fan pf this song before and that didn‘t change.
16. Norway - second wolf („I like the scent of every meal on your breath“) wasn‘t as good vocally as the other one but other than that they delivered and the crowd loved it.
17. Armenia - another surprise. Really good staging and vocals. Everything worked really well together.

Overall I thought the audience was a bit quiet. There was one section that was about 85% empty which is a shame.
Hosts are ok. I could have done with just Mika as the main host tbh.
Interview‘s with Italy and France were really messy.
The overall experience in the arena was very good.

But I do not feel like I‘ve seen a winner today.
 
One of my biggest disappointments was the year Eurovision was cancelled and we were supposed to have the 'Eurovision' cast perform. That would have been epic.

Do we know who's doing the interval entertaining? Hope they don't revisit acts like Madonna or Justin Timberlake. Eurovision don't need them or want them. They have no idea where or why they're performing there anyway.

Oh, I don’t know about that. I mean, Fire Saga were sublime but Iceland should send Dadi Freyr every year as far as I’m concerned.

Manneskin, which should actually be pretty super fantastic.

Subwoolfer: just hand them the sodding trophy already.

I agree I want to see local acts not US superstars as interval acts. Madonna didn't get a great reaction in 2019 so hopefully they have moved away from this idea.

Isn't Mika hosting? He can perform in the interval. He can sing Grace Kelly. And then he can do a Mans and Petra style performance.

I read somewhere that he is doing an interval act for the second semi

Can’t wait to see Diodato tonight 😭😭😭 the semi interval acts genuinely sound amazing at the moment so I’m not sure how they’re gonna top that
