Escape into the tea & sympathy chat room #3

1
On Saturday my Stepdad had abdominal pain. He was OK Sunday then Monday night he had discomfort again.

This morning (Tuesday) he woke up in pain and he made an appointment with his GP but went to emergency instead because it got worse.

The ED mentioned gallstones and/or pancreatitis.

As soon as my Stepdad mentioned the pancreas I thought of cancer and may be with Mum sooner than imagined.
I have heard him crying in bed and also looking at photos or Mum's belongings.
He has high blood pressure (on the ward 169 over 83 but that could be him being anxious in hospital and the ED lost his medication that he took with him (they were found)).

He is getting the results of the ultrasound and some other tests in the morning.

Yes I hope he's feeling better @Dooley Doo

I'm going to sit and have a moan now ;)

I found myself in A+E last week with stomach issues and had an MRI myself (still not 100% and waiting on an endoscopy some point in the new year - I'm not particularly concerned). And I was told that the MRI has come back fine.

It's worth pointing out at this point that my nearest big hospital (A+E) is in a different primary care trust to where I live.

Anyway, I got a call this morning from that hospital booking me in for the Pink Rose clinic (breast care) because something has shown up on my MRI. Now obviously (to me, and those that remember) this is the same funky looking lump that popped up on my routine mammo in April, that resulted in a 2 month trip down panic lane and a couple of biopsies before I was sent on my merry way and told to come back in 3 years. But that was at a different big hospital, in a different primary care trust, and this hospital cannot see my scans/results without requesting them and won't request them unless they deem it necessary which they won't know until I have my appointment in a couple of weeks (of course it will be deemed necessary - it's funky looking).

So yeah, hopefully this will just be a due diligence, box ticking exercise but bleeping hell what a pain in the arse.

Fingers crossed all is well, but what a bloody mess! It's no wonder the NHS is on its knees if it's duplicating work!

Belt and braces hopefully @DanDanTheIceCreamMan 🙏 - apparently here in Ireland we say “ to be sure to be sure” ( we don’t say that really🤭) no harm checking it out -
Hope everyone doing well- Christmas can be a tough time but it is only a day like every other- it will pass-

How worrying for you. Fingers crossed everything is OK still.

How are you @Dooley Doo ?
Did your step dad get the MRI and results?

Miscanthus it hasn't been a good few weeks.
Mum's birthday in October, my two brothers first birthdays without Mum and now Christmas approaching fast.

I bought Mum an amethyst coloured crystal beads suncatcher and coaster tiles with cats on them for Christmas.

My Stepdad hasn't gone for the MRI yet.
I think it's end of this month.

Thank you for asking. ❤️

Oh DanDanTheIceCreamMan how worrying for you.
I hope it's not serious and you get the all clear sooner than later. ❤️

I remember way back in high school one of the girls in my form class had to have a cyst removed.
