English channel migrant crossing crisis #7

Is anyone really surprised?

Like everything nowadays, checks seem to be non existant.

Whilst they are at it, they should be looking at every hand car wash, nail bar, Turkish Barbers, American candy stores, vape shops and phone shops (for starters) that have infested every city, town, and many villages. I'm pretty sure investigations would reveal large scale tax evasion, money laundering, illegal goods and employment of illegal migrants.
Yes! Even the locals are wondering what's going on but as I think someone on here said before, the rents are propping up the local councils :cautious:

I just don't understand how you can keep building houses for a million people coming across each year with no plan to stop it and not eventually run out of room, especially since the Muslim population expands exponentially, each couple having multiple children. It's just basic maths. And why would the cost to the tenant get cheaper as housing becomes more scarce with time? We know it gets more expensive. None of this adds up.

They’ll be more of an influx to UK once these new rules come into force they know Starmer will protect them.

With numbers like this it’s an immigration crisis as opposed housing crisis 😵‍💫 we’re feeling it in real time future generations won’t be able to afford to rent let alone buy a home at this rate.

You mean it would have been better for the UK to stay in the EU to counter immigration?

You need to tackle the root problem. UK and US bombing of the Middle East over the past 20 years has created the large scale Muslim displacement . Wars in Iraq, and the broader region have led to the destruction of infrastructure, and casualties, forcing millions to flee their homes. This has benefited Israel who wants the creation of Greater Israel.

In my parents old area there is now an Islamic center on the high road , one local pub has been bought and renovated to become a shesha bar. There is a Lebanese restaurant. Another Persian restaurant plus three Arab mini shops selling fruit. There are also two private Islamic secondary schools on one road all in one area in London. It used to just be Edgware Road that had a visible openly Arab presence.

Most Muslim families do tend to be large, they place a lot of emphasis on having children and kids being considered a blessing.

London birth statistics by nationality in 2023 showed 67.4% of births in involved parents where either one or both were born outside the UK. Indian-born mothers continue to lead followed by Pakistan. Romania Poland: Bangladesh.Nigeria and Somalia.

The demographics of the country is changing. I can see it with my own eyes. It’s happening all over Europe and doesn’t feel organic but feels manufactured artificially.

Incompetence can only be used so much as an excuse.

But isn't that why a lot of people voted Leave? How they were duped in so many ways, eh.
Was it? I thought it was more to do with sovereignty and not having a foreign body dictate how the country should be run? Immigration rules still apply throughout the EU regardless of Brexit.

Yet no safe Middle Eastern countries offer asylum? All but one country you’ve named is classed as safe so they’re economic migrants.

You forget that Farage with his xenophobia and racism got it over the line.

Refugees flee due to war, persecution, or violence, which are legally distinct from economic migration.

Countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey have taken in refugees—Turkey alone hosts approximately 3.4 million Syrians, while Lebanon and Jordan host over 800,000 and 760,000

The countries lack the resources to provide long-term security, employment opportunities, and legal protections for refugees. So while some Middle Eastern countries are considered safe, they may not meet the international standards of being able to provide long-term security.

The UK has played a significant role in exacerbating unrest in the Middle East. The UK conducted more than 1,700 airstrikes in Iraq and Syria. We disrupted their local economies, trade routes and created power vacuums.

The UK's financial expenditure on the Iraq War amounted to approximately £8.4 billion, not even including the post care provision for veterans. When combined with spending on the war in Afghanistan, the figure is set to approximately £20.3 billion. That could have been invested in building UK housing stock , paying nurse salaries, improving infrastructure.

To fix this we need to get rid of the snakes who have accepted donations pushing for the escalation of wars. Address the root causes, tighten border controls, reform Immigration laws. Invest in skills training and education to reduce dependency in agriculture and healthcare . Impose stricter requirements for family reunifications and make it easier to deport criminals. Given the UK’s track record, there is skepticism about whether these changes can even be implemented effectively.

Their own countries never were and never will be as generous as ours. We give them everything even though they've already broke the law the minute they've arrived.
They've seen it all on social media. They know they can do anything they want like set up illegal businesses, money launder and get away with it.
They can have a home and money for free whilst being given everything else from various charities.
This is why they are here.

So 1% of the 51%?

That may be true for a tiny portion but the bulk of those seeking asylum in Ireland for eg are from Georgia, Jordon, S, Africa, UK , India, Nigeria, Brazil so definitely economic migrants, they pay to asylum shop ,if you bypass hundreds of countries to reach one that’s not fleeing persecution imo. Some EU countries don’t grant Syrians asylum as Damascus is considered stable.

I guess I imagined the mid 50s looking white man ahead of me in the bus queue the day after the referendum telling a black woman that she was a black witch for accidentally walking into him whilst he dithered boarding the bus, or on the day after, a man of the same description telling two Spanish men on a bus talking in their language to duck off back home or speak the same language. I'd never seen incidents like this before in London. The racists had their last hurrah with Brexit.

We also see a few people on this thread occasionally drop their masks and show themselves for what they are so let's not make out that xenophobia & racism wasn't a notable factor in the referendum.

Widespread…
