One of the girlfriends was only 16 and he was 23, that is so wrong. As you get older age gaps aren’t as weird but that’s a major red flag and the fact that he keeps dating younger and younger with each girlfriend is very questionable. He gets older and the gap gets greater.
 
I had no idea that he dated a 16 year old when he was 23!!!!! That has seriously lowered my opinion of him (and it wasn't very high to start with) what the helllllll. I'm sorry but that is CREEPY and not normal or okay. And the fact that he has always dated younger is really really weird. He can't even try to justify it by saying it was a one off out of love.

Emily and her family must see red flags?!?

Wtf that’s disgusting! I always think older men who are dating 16 year old girls have major issues!

Yeah like major issues 🤢 I'm shocked at this. It's disgusting to even think about but Emily's figure is very thin, no curves type, is he attracted to that because it looks young. I'm so grossed out.
 
So, he started dating Gabby in Sep 2006, she turned 16 that July. He was 23 and had already been in Busted and Son of Dork, so had a lot more life and relationship experience. She also lived in NYC at the time. She used to fly over the London to see him even when she was underage. Would really question her parents tbh. I’m a year younger than her and found it a little weird at the time but the older I get the more disturbing it gets. Definitely issues there with the age of consent. It’s just not normal. James dumped her when she was 23 for her friend Portia who was 9 years younger than James. I’ve said it before, I used to be a big fan of James but damn, he’s dating life is not normal. I don’t like Emily as a person but I definitely think he’s taking advantage of her age and lack of life/relationship experience, which he seems to have a pattern in doing.
 
His ex wasnt that much younger i don't think

That's pedophilia. Is it legal to be romantically/sexually involved with a 16 year old in the UK?

She was American and living in New York, age of consent is 17 there.

Her parents were ok with it, so I dunno. But it was not a good look. You could have made the argument that it was a love match, still sketchy, but his pattern since is not good. An as someone pointed out, Emily looks a lot younger than she is as well.

On another note, glad she finally got called out about her not disclosing. It's very embarrassing to have such a big write up about it.
