I know, right? I moved to California right before the pandemic, and have just wanted so bad to take advay of being so close to Hawaii, but I feel like it is so rude to do so. I think she used to bank on bringing her looks to the table. Thats not going to let her demand much in return these days.

I Agree 100% that she needs to work on herself and there isn't a quick fix. It would have taken her a while to fix herself on the inside after Joe left. It's going to take even longer with the damage of the last 3 years heaped on top of all that.

From what I recall, Smelle's mother got that Hawaii timeshare around the time Smelle started Youtube. So it's not really any sort of home to her, just because you go to a place for vacation doesn't mean it's your home, just as renting an Airbnb in a city doesn't make you a local And watching a hula dance show put out by a resort for the tourists isn't really embracing local culture either. Nor is shopping in LV outlet.

I wonder why Elle thinks it’s a good idea to keep bringing her Bfs to Hawaii. They always seem to break up with her afterwards. I guess travel is a good litmus test for a relationship and Hawaii probably brings out the worst in Elle. They may also realise how codependent she truly is with Ginette - that her girl boss personna is fake, and that they are expected to take on the role of Ginette post-marriage.

Also TBH Ginette is not actually that wealthy that a dude may turn a blind eye. For instance if ginette is ok (and able) with paying for everything always (some really rich parents do), it might be a different matter. Because then Elle could sustain herself with her mum’s funds. But I think Elle expects the man to replace her Mum in this instance - which is probably a horrifying realisation for a lot of men.

She may be treading lightly if the YSL purchase caused the Rick breakup, to not alarm Mr. Next, and show only the small purchase on camera.

I completely agree.

Also a lot of the furniture she forced him to buy is ugly and way too bulky for an apartment or even a townhouse. Even if you can fit it into a nice two bedroom condo, it’s still very large and awkward looking. I would not want such a large headboard unless I was living in a very spacious place and Vancouver is not really known for that unless you own a multimillion dollar home. And not to mention, that headboard is way too tall and ugly to begin with.

I don’t think it needs to be an emotional thing. After all, they’ve been broken up for years at this point, Joe definitely had at least one new serious girlfriend that we know of, and he did the dumping and never looked back even though Smelle didn’t get a new place for months afterwards (probably trying to convince him to come back like she tried to “work things out” with Chris after getting kicked out) so clearly his mind was made up long before they split. I think people just take some time to get rid of everything from a previous relationship though I personally wouldn’t bother with appliances or furniture unless it wasn’t to my taste or didn’t fit my space properly, particularly if it’s larger pieces cause you still need to use those regularly.
