I was surprised panorama didn’t mention the government enforcing calories put on food menus but I guess that was after they had filmed it

Oh really. So it was basically 'I was bullied for being obese' and not informative about how she's trying to change that! Boring!

Just my view but if I had been bullied for being fat at school I wouldn't be fat at 24 (age Clair is) as I would show them by getting in shape. She's only herself to blame.

I thought her slimming storyline was wrote for her as she planned to lose weight. What's she done with her months off? Perfect time off work to work better on her health and she didn't take it. Her mother didn't take any responsibility in the documentary for how she fed her.

Not trying to start an argument but, health issues aside, the only people to blame for her being bullied are the bullies. There's no excuse for treating someone like tit. She shouldn't have to change for anyone else, only herself.

Oh totally agree. I just wanted to know if her documentary had a point, which it sounds like it didn't. Sadly we live in a world where weight, age, sex, height, any minor defect etc are fair game for bullies. That will never change however much we 'be kind' people. I don't buy anyone who is obese is happy about it, but it's not up to random idiots what you do with your body. I used to have big ears and was teased relentlessly. I've had surgery now and it was the best decision, so those bullies however wrong force me to do something that truly benefited me in the end!
 
I must admit I did think that Clair (Bernie) would have lost some weight in the 6 months she had off as it was the perfect opportunity to do a health overhaul, so I was surprised when she returned looking the same.

Nobody should be bullied for their appearance of course, but those in show business will always have their appearance scrutinised. That's always been that way and it won't change. Casting is mostly done on looks/appearance.

Bullying isn't right, but it is a fact of life. I mean it just gets worse and worse with this cancel culture and you can't say anything without being accused of 'hate'. The only way you can beat it is by resilience and learning to not depend on others for your self worth. Only you get to decide your worth and you need to tell yourself that every single day!

Yes I totally agree. I'm rather tired of everyone claiming victimhood these days. It's like a badge of honour now and puts you in a weak position rather than a strong position. As you say resilience is needed along with a bit more of a 'duck you' attitude. Take control of your life and don't let others control you and your thoughts.

Moving on, Ben is a acting like a total tosser.
Does anyone think that he'll end up snogging the new handsome barman at the Albert?

Yep totally. They're setting it up for him to cheat and gor dopey Callum to forgive him yet again! Although I do find Callum quite cute I admit.
 
I like Callum not keen on Ben. Why has Sam come back? well heres what I think should be the reason..... Some guys are after her and they turn up in the Square, she has to ask Phil for help (hes out of the nick obv) but well he cant handle them on his own so then Grant comes back and they 'sort out' the guys like the good old days of Phil & Grant.

Poor guy who plays Ben. Split with his long-term girlfriend, lost two of his best friends in a year and then had a fling with another woman and now they've split up she's pregnant. What a palaver. Worthy of an EE storyline in fact.
 
I saw rumours of speculation online that the new bar manager at the Albert that gave Ben an alibi is somehow related to Aidan Maguire, due to his keenness with Ben and the Irish accent. I doubt the writers are smart enough to make that link but if it’s true, I hope not. I couldn’t stand any of the Phil and Aidan stuff, it made for dire watching and even now when the police mention him it’s a snoozefest

Ooh interesting, that might be possible.
I saw someone theorising that there might also be a plot along these lines:
Maybe Sam and Phils's real plan is to set Jack up and expose the corruption in Phil's prosecution, earning him a reprieve
