I’m don’t think Stevie killed the mum as he said he did. I think she’s maybe committed suicide due to him leaving her for teddy’s mum

I don’t think it’s money related, and I don’t think Jane is coming back (although I would love to see her and Cindy confront each other).
So I’m going for a secret child, who is now an adult and comes searching for him. And I guess the staggering part is going to be who the child’s mother is? Posters with a better memory than me will have to suggest possibilities :)
 
Tying all this together, maybe Bobby was a secret twin? Laura really had a boy and a girl, but the girl has been growing up with some distant relative. The girl comes to the square looking for Ian. Ian is delighted and the new daughter becomes his golden child, like Lucy was. Cindy is furious because Ian gets another set of boy/girl twins. Peter is devastated because Bobby now has a twin sister after taking Peter’s away. Bobby can’t cope with the guilt and leaves.

Far fetched I know, but I’m only half joking. After all, we’ve had dead people return, we’ve had Kat having twins without knowing, we’ve had Dean and Shabnam having an offscreen and never mentioned ONS. Which resulted in a baby that Shabnam abandoned on a doorstep yet still managed to get back years later. And we’ve had two adoptions where the new parents have conveniently died and the birth parents have stepped back in.

I felt for Billy today, he was abandoned and put in care when he was 9, and then his dad went onto have the family life he should’ve had with Billy but couldn’t as couldn’t bring himself to look at him as he looked like his dead mother. I think any person would’ve been upset if they found out about the life they could’ve had, rather being in care

Nah I thought exactly same as you 😄 If she was alive she'd probably be in a care home and Billy wouldn't bother to visit her. He didn't bother to find her before, so him blaming his dad when he's been free to find his mum all these years is pathetic.

Yes his dad let him down but Billy has been an adult for a long time and could've tried to find his parents again years ago.
