Poor Yolande šŸ˜”
Ugh that's awful I love Yolande! Pastor whatever his name needs slapping down!

Iā€™m sorry but Iā€™m finding Johnny increasingly sexy, during the police interview scene I was like šŸ„µ I barely remember but I swear he was a little wet wipe when the other two actors played him.

Cannot STAND Dean or Jade, the sooner they duck off to New York/Pakistan the better! He makes me want to stop watching. Hope Jade drowns in her bath of beans.

The six continually meeting up in the most obvious places is just ridiculous, not to mention if theyā€™ve been texting each other thatā€™s a huge evidence trail. Itā€™ll be a true testament to the Walford policeā€™s incompetence if they donā€™t get sent down.

Poor George, deserves so much better than Gloria and Eddie.

An hour long special though for 2 characters we barely know? Filled with flashbacks from characters we don't know at all?? All because we need eastenders to teach us about the important issue of sexual assault šŸ™„ I hate it when they do stuff like this.

I donā€™t trust current EE to write this kind of story properly, the fallout from The Six stuff hasnā€™t been great writing for the female characters IMO.

Donā€™t want to see this, will just skip it.

The very special episode about Ruby was pretty cringe. I donā€™t think I can be bothered with a whole hour of issues. Iā€™d rather watch Shitney and Nitney in Milton Keynes at this point.

Exactly, how many rape / sexual assault storylines do we need? The writers canā€™t write or finish the ones in existence. I just donā€™t think we need another one in the mix.

Agreed. Seems like overkill when Dean is still roaming about untouched by karma and is now playing the toxic parent character. I get it's not how life works but it feels like there still needs to be a conclusion to that.

Being a rapist was so central to Dean's storyline for a while, but it's being diluted by him being an all round villain.

Yep, itā€™s not that I expect every r*pist to die horribly (although it would be nice to see one or two go that way in the modern era), itā€™s the inability to deliver any meaningful payoff or to apply subtlety if theyā€™re claiming ā€œrealismā€ that gets me. If they want to claim itā€™s true to life with Dean getting away with it, then fine up to a point, but thereā€™s something off with the writing now in how he appears.

It was actually quite shocking originally to have a character we had seen as a slightly dopey teenager with problems under the surface, turn out that way and do something so terrible, I thought that was a very striking choice to begin with, but Dean is being overused now like when Grey became a serial killer instead of the actually somehow much more impactful domestic abuser character he wasā€¦

Also I just donā€™t want this for Yolande. Yes, the actress will smash this out of the park, yes this is a soap, but donā€™t want to see it.
