Grant’s dog - I think I can remember her being with Phil at some point. Wellard got her pregnant and all the puppies were stillborn.
Wellard/Roly/Willie all got send offs but Frieda just disappeared I think

I agree about the ridiculous lack of any solid families. There should be one or two couples who have weathered the storms and stayed together. Also, the writers split people up, then don’t know what to do with them. How many married couples on the square have broken up and then got back together, sometimes repeatedly:
Kat and Alfie
Stacey and Martin
Ian and Cindy
Billy and Honey
Sharon and Phil
Patrick and Yolande

It‘s ridiculous. Why not just keep some of them together in the first place? They can still have drama, worries about health, money, jobs, their kids! Loads of stuff apart from divorce.

Totally agree, too much home wrecking. Most families don’t want to be blended then un-blended(?), and steps are known to hate the sight of each other who wants to share anything these days!

EE is a 40 year social experiment of affairs, crossing boundaries between families and the social class divide etc the sad outcomes of broken homes then rebuilding tattered lives and then it gets forgotten about…

Ps now that cuckquean Dee is being fed jam roly-poly in the psych ward with her meds, will she reveal to Jack and Amy everything she needs to tell Stacey the mad tart to shove it!

Maybe they will bring in a new family for the Taylor flat. A couple with two or three kids, who have already been together a long time (over ten years).
Because the only existing couples on the square are too new, or already unstable. So the show needs to bring in ‘ready made’.

I don’t think a lack of a nuclear family is just an EE problem. I can only think of very few in Coronation Street and two in Hollyoaks

As soon as a normal family arrives on Albert Square its guaranteed that one of them will have an affair and they'll be caught up in crime or murder within a few years

All the soaps used to do it years ago. They had marriages that lasted. I know soaps were tamer in those days but Jack and Vera lasted, so did Audrey and Alf and Roy and Hayley.

They could at least try to have a longer lasting marriage. They should have left Kat and Phil together and they should definitely leave Billy and Honey together. Martin and Stacey should have been left together too because they had a realistic relationship, rather than having Stacey lusting after old Branning men all the time
