Dave the cat should come back. Maybe he can make a dramatic entrance in the back of a cab with a suitcase. First he’ll just sneak around the square seeing what loved ones are doing, but then he’ll stroll into the vic that evening and the music will stop and Sonia will drop her drink.

Then it’ll turn out Reiss is allergic to cats giving Sonia the perfect excuse to dump him.
