there’s quite an important message that they’re I presume trying to get across with this whole Jay storyline regarding next of kins. I don’t think I’ve seen it play out in so much detail on a soap before but actually it’s incredibly important to have the right next of kin listed especially in todays age when many couples don’t marry or blended families etc. that and Sharon’s will/albies legal guardian happening at the same time isn’t a coincidence

These spoilers on Facebook are getting more and more stupid. Posting a funeral from almost a year ago

I hate when the media picks up on completely stupid twitter posts and publishes them as speculation. Like “Honey to die after kidnap horror?” and it just turns out they’re basing that on the theory of some idiot on social media who spends way too much time thinking about the show.

is it a thing they can't tell anyone else anything with next of kin? It's really annoying me. Calum has managed to flash the badge twice within a night. Like the security would even listen. At least finally they have realised Jay is grieving. Liked the scenes with Gina and Cindy, Gina opening up was nice. Wish George would give me a nice warm hug.

Tonight's ep is so maddening. Those two police people standing speechless at the Vic door, after establishing that Lola, the next of kin, had died they continued to listen to Billy, Ben and Ian telling them that they should disclose what happened to Jay. Ben and Billy being so remorseful, it takes Jay almost dying for them to have some compassion towards him in his despair. Note that Lexi didn't cry at all ...... whereas I did!! 😭
As for Calum flashing his warrant card at the police, then the two security guards in the hospital. Do off duty police staff carry their warrant card at all times, being 'on-duty' even when they are 'off-duty'?

Well done the make-up department making Jay look very much as if he had been in an road accident.

Considering the medical staff said he had brain damage and in a coma, not sure the palpable relief of his close relatives was justified when all he was doing was breathing with the help of a ventilator. He is hardly out of the woods yet.
A powerful episode, although many things didn't quite ring true if it were actual real life, which they are trying to portray.

How does one get a next of kin registered with the police, and do they just turn up in person at your house/family, or if you don’t have family do they go to your work ? Sorry if this triggers anyone 😢 what if you have a friend or neighbour can they be next of kin?
