Eastenders #18 Take me down to Ian Beales chippy, where the sausage is long and the chips are greasy

There was the broken bottle covered in blood though. I still think it's going to be Vinnie
Maybe Ben’s going to have a reverse head change like Peter and Musicals Ben will come back with his wrench?

someone posted the little clip of her saying “sometimes things die in response to some kind of bereavement on the square and i was 🤣🤣

remember when she was just a sweet girl dating jay and wanting to be a vet in her miss selfridge coat?!
Omg I remember that it was after she ran over her dog, when we were trying to figure out who killed Lucy. 13 year old me was convinced it was her based on that line! It is crazy a supposed animal lover was so nonchalant over killing her own pet- she went through like 5 personality changes 🤣.

Plus she seemed so proud of herself when it was revealed that she slapped Lucy on the night of her death! 🤣 I think the writers took that approach with Abi to show the impact dysfunctional families have on innocent family members. It was just so bizarre to witness 🤣 she went from being a sweet little girl to actively seeking her sister’s partner and not giving a damn. Plus she was Babe’s puppet! It’s a shame they can’t mirror that level of dysfunction with Gina

omg was THAT the context?!? 🤣

they turned her into such a psycho in the end. she was like two completely different characters from when she first joined (though no one could have been well adjusted growing up in the branning house i guess!)

I really hope Cindy and George have a hot, steamy affair. We need to see more of that man. Ian being his usual knob of himself, he honestly never changes. Why Bobby went to the hospital I will never know, I want a classic Harry Hill fight between Cindy and Bobby. Bush push!

I do wonder if the bosses have offered Michael French a deal to reprise his role as David Wicks.
He was great in his day but I doubt if he'll return anytime soon. The actor who played Simon Wicks retired from acting so he definitely won't come back.

There's plenty of drama to be had with 'mouse man' 😄 Ian Beale setting out to reclaim his business empire and Cindy stirring everything up.

Max would be a good match for Cindy if he ever came back and he's got Cindy's grandchild 🫠

I’ve really enjoyed this week’s episodes. There was some dodgy acting but overall it’s been a lot of fun to watch. They usually save these kinds of episodes for Christmas or anniversary weeks not Summertime which is traditionally a lot quieter storyline wise due to some viewers being on holiday

There’s been a buzz around Eastenders again and that hasn’t happened in a long while. Looking forward to the Theo stuff next week and of course there is the buildup to the Christmas flashforward still to come

Eastenders has really improved. There are still some flaws with it but I’m finding myself looking forward to the next episode again which I haven’t felt like that in years

this honestly also shows how good the parent/child casting is 🤣 i never realised how alike the actors for bobby and laura are - he could literally be her son. likewise gina and anna both look like siblings and realistically like cindy and george’s kids.
I thought this the other day after watching a classic episode, he also really resembles a young Ian Beale, the casting is spot on with Bobby.

I know I’m late to the party but I have just started watching classic Eastenders I’m up to late January 2009 and it’s bloody amazing there are so many storylines going on at once! Now a days one of these storylines would be a big massive Christmas storyline but back then it was just a random Thursday storyline as so much was going on!!
it seems to be picking up a bit lately but how did they drop the ball so much in the last few years? Did covid filming restrictions really effect the flow or was it losing its storytelling abilities before then?
