Far from heart-wrenching, one that lives in my head rent free is a Channel 4 documentary called 'More Sex Please, We're British' - all about LoveHoney, the online sex toy retailers 😂 I still tell folk about one of the anecdotes in it from the woman who reviewed the site's user-submitted photos of the lingerie: there was one set featuring a woman who was absolutely stunning, all dressed up to the nines in nothing but stockings and lace... and in the mirror in the background, you could clearly see some bloke intently watching the snooker instead 😅

Plus the genuinely line "Oh, there goes Doris with a trolley full of dildos" still makes howl as much as it did when I was about 14 🤣
It's the people who work in the returns department of Love Honey that I feel sorry for!

What always gets me about documentaries about child abuse images, is the fact that the pedophiles who view it don’t seem to think about or care how much damage is being done to that child.

The second man in that documentary, the one who wrote his email on the toilet wall, said he wouldn’t watch anything where the child was crying or distressed. Well 1. that was proven to be a lie when they saw what he’d been looking at and 2. every single child in those videos or pictures would have been distressed and it will affect them for the rest of their lives.

Child abuse images are exactly that. I don’t know why some of them feel like are any better for just watching. The demand means that children will continue to be abused.
You’ve confirmed to me why I was avoiding watching this. It would make me too angry. These men should be castrated

Ross Kemp on gangs/extreme world. Can't remember which it was, but he was looking at gangs around the world, there were some horrible people around. However the gangs as evil as their doings, were raised in 3rd world, had to steal to eat etc as children. Then there was an episode in Liverpool with a gang, and those were the most evil in my opinion, because they had more choice to be evil compared to the gang members in 3rd world countries.

The two in the series that I've seen (I don't know if there are any more) really make you wonder why they even attempt rehabilitation for these men. There was an article on BBC News a while back that showed that men that had been through one of these treatment programmes actually had worse re-offending rates. I know I don't know much about it but why cant they chemically castrate them so they feel no urge? that way they are no danger and can live in society.
It also makes me sure that there should be such a wider effort on the part of tech companies. They discussed that porn often leads to extreme porn which then leads on further and further as the appetite increases and they become de-sensitised. It's not just a case of the same abuse having moved to the web, it's grown exponentially and is such a fundamental harm to society.

yeah they should really go after the payment companies and stop them from allowing people to pay for this (credit card companies/paypal - whatever it is) and alert authorities when they find it.
I read a fascinating article in the guardian a few years ago about the police who work tracking these monsters down, I cannot understand how they manage to do it, must be the most awful job, they have to go through extensive therapy etc all the time but even so it must be SO psycologically damaging, will try and find the article and link it here

They have an implant in Norway I believe that they give to ponces which basically stops/suppresses any sexual urges? I saw a programme on it years ago and it apparently worked quite well. You can also go and ask for it voluntarily if you are afraid you might sexually abuse or rape a child too.
I’d be all for this, those perverts never reform so this implant or castration seems the way to go. Guess it’s against their human rights or something though? 🤮

So after the chat about the paedophile documentary on here, I watched 2 episodes (don't know if there are more)
So many thoughts.
I take my hat off to those officers who do this job, I struggled to read/hear what was being said but to sit and type it to catch these animals it takes a lot.
2nd episode was just so disturbing to me, all I kept thinking was omg what if that meet up had of been for real, some poor child, cable ties and toys what the hell.
What I took from it that I didn't realise was they said part of it is about having power, much like rapist, I always assumed these animals had a weird attraction to the anatomy and I think that's part of it but also the fact of the power they hold over these children, the officer was right they couldn't speak to a grown woman like that she'd tell them to f off but a child can as we seen be talked round, so so sad. I know we can't watch our children 24/7 but with animals like that about you need to.

yeah I agree, these officers are just amazing. I don't have children, but if I did I would be so paranoid. The power dynamic is like rapists generally, it is not about the sex but about the control

Undercover police: Paedophile hunters or catching paedophiles can't rem exact name, I watched it on catch up on all 4.

I think it’s easy to be quite evangelical about catching p-dos- those police officers were doing an amazing job but they seemed so frustrated as it was just growing so fast and they were just scratching the surface. They’re bloody everywhere.
Absolutely they are everywhere!! And while technology is a wonderful thing, computers, apps, games, online, its also where they lurk and prey.

I watched Bridegroom years ago but still remember it. Two men who are gay grew up in different backgrounds. Sean lived in a rural area, came out, and was accepted by his family. Tom grew up in a conservative religious household and his parents flipped out when he came out to them. The two men ended up moving out to LA, met each other through friends, and started a relationship. By all accounts from friends and personal video footage from the documentary you could tell they were perfect for each other. It was real love. Tom passed away after a tragic accident. It then highlighted the struggles of being an unmarried same sex couple and trying to navigating the aftermath of your partner's death when you don't have any legal rights to each other.

Sean is now an activist for LGBTQ+ rights. He met a new partner and got engaged may be married by now. He said over the years it was difficult to date because he made a career out of activism after Tom's death and that Tom was still a huge part of his life. On some level it must be difficult to know that if Tom hadn't passed away then Sean and Tom would still be together. I have a lot of respect for his husband and how he understood that Tom would always be a part of Sean's life and now their life together.
