Gambling addiction is a terrible thing. Drug addiction is a terrible thing. Alcoholism is a terrible thing. All people suffering from addictions deserve empathy and access to treatment if they truly wish to get better.

Stealing and fraud to feed your habit is still a crime, whatever it is, and needs to be punished in an appropriate way.

Similarly, it still boggles me that Jack Monroe admitted in a national newspaper to spending the money from her Patreon supporters on drugs and sideboards like it was a massive joke. She's still a fraud and a thief, although there's even less chance that she'll get her comeuppance than ol' flappygums
 
To be clear, when I say I hope he gets help it's from my (possibly rose-tinted) core belief, that everyone has it in them to be a good person and all deserve a shot at redemption. Part of that shot at grace and redemption (and making amends) is being duly and fairly punished for the harm caused to others.

Basically what Mavis said while I was typing this.

If it was just a gambling addiction I'd have a *smidgeon* of sympathy.
But he's a lying thieving racist c*nt. He's exploited vulnerable people for years and that had nothing to do with the gambling.
He probably felt a sense of relief the BBC reporter failed to uncover this massive scandal.
Didn't 'Mark' hint at this gambling addiction ages ago?
 
A suspected James Anderson sock is claiming Milly got somebody at the bookies fired for the photo of him there but she alleges the photo is from a different source and he's lying.

We have no definite proof. She has not got a record of making things up herself and things she has claimed before have then gone on to be proven true. However, we do not know her sources and can only take her word for it. It would be healthy to take things with a pinch of salt. Right now this is all just rumour as we are hearing things third hand rather than directly.

Some of her sources have proven to be people directly affected by James Anderson and who then were present in the documentary which was of course independently verified by the BBC.

The photograph of James at a casino is definitely interesting to say the least. Additionally, the allegations of him gambling line up with previous claims from other people within Burnley and it would explain a lot so it's plausible.

Unfortunately it's harder to prove the "he was giving away gift cards".

I would say Milly is a reliable source of information with regards to Depher, but unfortunately due to how James Anderson operates and the complete lack of interest from regulatory bodies and the police, we don't have concrete proof so these remain allegations rather than concrete fact.

Frankly, it's insane to me there hasn't been more involvement from the police based on what is known to be fact and has been proven as such.

She’s hardly able to name her sources or post concrete evidence though is she?

seems pretty clear the info has come from people in Burnley who may not want Anderson to know they’ve spoken up.

Everything she’s claimed has been substantiated so far. The collection of formal evidence is down to the police.
 
I didn't say otherwise, in fact I made a point to say Milly has repeatedly said things which then went on to be verified. I have also repeatedly stated I trust Milly as a source.

That said, I do also remember the incident where it was claimed a card drawn by a child was drawn by James himself and this was stated as fact, only for the mother to come forward and state, no the child had drawn it. James then further weaponised this and used it as a shield going forwards. Individuals are perfectly capable of misunderstanding or getting the wrong information. To their credit, the claims were then recanted and it was explained what had happened. But this is something that can happen again as is always the case when information is being handed source to source without independent verification.

I wouldn't expect anybody to out sources and post evidence. But I also wouldn't expect people to say something is 100% proven true when information is being received second/third hand. That's not an attack on anybody. Half the reason this mess exists to begin with is because everybody took what somebody said online as true without being able to independently verify that it was. I think anybody calling that out would be understanding that allegations are taken with a pinch of salt on the off chance there has been a misunderstanding or a source ends up being bad.

The thing that gives me pause about the records is the insistence it must be him because the name and age matches.

Which yes they might, but I’d bet there were numerous babies born James Ward and James Anderson in the same year as him. James has got to be up there with the most common names for someone of his age and neither Ward or Anderson are unusual names. It’s not like he’s called Tarquin Von Grasshopper where it absolutely must be him.
 
Twitter has descended into an us versus them mentality regarding the acknowledgement these are allegations and not currently evidenced. Not going to post the tweets here as this is a thread about James Anderson but I do think it's unfair to claim the people over here have "never revealed anything about the man". They were more than happy to share the archived tweets I found and flagged where James was using photos of his own children to fundraise, passing them off as kids in need. Doubly so, after James Anderson deleted all his tweets and they weren't manually archived so he was able to claim the screenshots were edited, they were happy to share the archive of him lying about Joyce I spent hours digging for as though it was their own discovery. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's not productive to turn on each other, focus on James.

(And use Internet archives rather than just screenshots on the egregious stuff so he can't cry photoshop)
 
Just adding to the above. Nobody is saying tattle discovered the Joyce ordeal. But after James Anderson deleted his tweets and then said the evidence was photoshopped because they only had screenshots, it was tattle who pulled an archived link which is tamper proof after hours of scouring the archives.

This could have been avoided if tweets had been archived manually and they had the links to hand. Instead, we had to interrogate the wayback machine archives and try and find the hyperlink that was no longer easibly findable. Not really interested in "clout" or "credit", it's just disingenuous to say nobody here contributed anything when people were happy to use materials from here.

None of the above discussion was a personal attack. It's an acknowledgement that there's room for error when there are no provided pieces of evidence.

Anyway, back to the man at hand. He's back to posting plumbing jobs in the old Depher group which is seemingly unpaused again but is still posting under the fake name.
