He will pull a Jamie Oliver and will soon move into trying to influence policies and then becoming a policy maker himself. Let’s not forget how that ended for Jamie, who was far better established by then than these two and him pivoting away from making food and trying to dictate how others live almost bankrupted him and it was his own private money that saved him.
these two are overstretched AF financially. Neither of their families’ wealth is liquid cash and as such, they have insane outgoings every month that are protected and guaranteed by interests and dividends and so on.
if Matt and Ella have to start pouring their own liquid cash into the business it’s all gone. They took out an insane mortgage on their own house to buy out their investors- so something their families probably gifted them is now not a private property but an asset tied to their business.
He's using her, her business and her giving him a family for the next stage of his life plan. Prime Minister! The only way I see him getting a seat is as a conservative though, but his Mother's connections and good will from her supporters are all labour. He could flip flop like his FIL?The article just depicts what a sad life she leads...a workaholic that is giving a bad example to children (and uses them for social media exposure) plus a cringe husband that she has nothing in common but just work...that sounds like HELL. Not a success story.
Very sorry about your DadI had never heard of Ella before today. I heard her pop up on radio 2 this morning, and whilst I was only half listening, alarm bells went off. She seemed to be strongly implying that eating a plant based diet and not eating processed food had cured a serious medical condition.
This sounded like bullshit. If it was so simple, doctors would have prescribed vegetables rather than have her on 25 different pills every day.
So I did the only sensible thing...look on tattle and see if she had a thread....
I was not dissapointed.
Tbh I find people who say things like this infuriating. One of my dad's sisters is like this. When she found out how ill he was, she sent my mum a nutribullet.
At his funeral she told me that if only she had known that he had cancer sooner ( he hadn't wanted people to know, and had only told his family when things started to get reallybad ), she would have known the foods he could have eaten to be cured. I really had to hold by tongue that day.
Very sorry about your Dad
Big red flag indeed how she uses her children for so much advertising. Not only is this a consent and safety issue (with their images and personal details going out to millions of people on an almost daily basis) but actually a child labour issue. As she’s posted numerous photos of her children advertising her products on Instagram and both girls are heavily featured through her new recipe book, by definition they’re actually working as child models/actors and should be recognised and paid as such (there is legislation being developed in a few places around the world for this atm, and a few states in the USA where I believe it may already be in place). To be honest this is the bigger red flag for me:

A small child does not have the ability to understand what it means to have your face plastered on social media and in published books around the world. You don’t own your children. And this also isn’t how consent works “I’ll stop hitting her when she asks me too” … “I’ll stop touching her when she asks me too”. Absolutely gross way to look at it.
it should be “I give my children autonomy to own their own online presence and their own image. Therefore I won’t share anything about them until they are old enough to understand and to give consent”.
At this point they’re a marking tool to show she’s relatable.

I hope her family still has some control so when she has a meltdown and Matthew tries to walk away with everything, she won’t be completely exposed and helplessHonestly I think she has some sort of financial advisor who told her to pay her children for their “job”. I live in another country and one of my friends is a quite big influencer in my country, and she pays her child. Obviously the child can’t spend the money but will get access at 18y/o. And it has a lot of tax benefits for both her and the child lol - I am sure Ella’s financial advisor will have suggested something similar if the same benefits exist in the UK. Unless her financial advisor is Matt CEO, Factory Owner, cook book writer and Deliciously Ella Muse

she has always been a bit cloak and dagger with being vegan, so assuming she’s not now.
She started out as a vegan, but then (in news that will shock no one) around the time she met Matt she started eating fish for “health reasons”.
She then sold fish and chicken at the deli originally (which was to attract men because: sexism means Matt and Ella didn’t believe men would eat plants).
Then she faced an absolutely huge backlash and within 6 months they quietly shelved the meat at the deli.
She has since worn clothing that is clearly not vegan, and never calls her self vegan because 1) the word puts lots of people off and 2) she doesn’t want the vegans to come for her in the comments (kind of fair enough really…). But she’s been vegetarian for a long time now unless she secretly eats fish again on the side.
I think she would probably label herself as plant based if anything.
Fun Fact: she actually started her blog on blogger not word press and on that in her first very recipes she included fish. It’s been taken down now obviously, but she didn’t actually start out plant based. That was a decision she took when she realised that plant based was growing. Maybe it was for health, maybe it was for wealth, who knows… all I know is that, that’s conveniently forgotten about whenever she’s interviewed.
Made me wonder if we could see her old blog on the way back machine…. Yep! Salmon included! https://web.archive.org/web/20120516015532/http://deliciouslyella.com/
Not even wife, mother of his children...just an employee on a payroll meeting deadlines as he has nothing else in common to talk about. Just profits and him proving what an excellent ceo he is. Well he wishes he could be because he is even burning out his life partner ....She is Matthew’s employee at this point.
