I'm scottish but me and old dear go to see a lot of Irish Country singers. I know Nathan Carter's brother Jake won the series a few years ago.

Should they not have tried to attract a couple of country singers. Maybe somebody like Claudia Buckley or her dad Jimmy??? Lisa McHugh or Barry Kirwan (i would have suggested his dad Dominic but i know his knees are goosed)

I know Lisa and Barry did a lot of Irish Dancing, how does the Irish Dancing with the Stars feel about ringers 😉😉😉

I'm from Munster and really associate the grá for country music with the midlands/border counties. Seems to be massive there, its not really a thing down here.
 
I'm not a fan of the show, because I don't always know the 'celebs' or pros and to be totally honest I find the whole production amateurish.

However I'm sad for people that have enjoyed it and sad for them it has now been cancelled.
 
The first few partnerships:
- Panti Bliss & Denys Samson
- Dr. Marie Cassidy & Stephen Vincent
- Suzanne Jackson & Michael Danilczuk
- Leah O’Rourke & John Nolan
- Stephanie Roche & Ervinas Merfeldas
- Brooke Scullion & Maurizio Benenato
 
Not being Irish/living in Ireland I don't know any the celebs but I do know the dancers.
Does anyone have any idea of which celebs might be able to dance well?
 
Stephanie Roche is a footballer so will be very disciplined about training I bet.
I’m excited about this year. I love the group dances the celebs have to do and I love the pros.They all seem happy to be involved. No major egos

Looking at their SM Brooke comes across as likable and down to earth, I was hoping since she's short Michael might get her.

The group dances are so much better than Strictly, Darren and Lilia do a fantastic job.
 
The first set of pairings seem pretty good. I think it's only fair that Maurizio got Brooke since he was out first last year and nice that John has someone younger for a change, they usually pair him with a slightly older partner.

At least Michael doesn't have Dr. Marie! Hopefully he & SoSueMe stay a few weeks.

I honestly hope Suz is out the first week. I can't see her being a good dancer.

I was wondering the same. I can't decide whether I'm fully comfortable with it or not.

She said herself when she took over from John Harbison that she didn't believe him when he said he was famous in Ireland on account of being the State Pathologist
