Just saw the trailer for the new season; that must be the lowest quality trailer they've ever done; just them all dancing in a warehouse. I wonder if the rumours are true and this really is the last season?

I dont even think they're rumours anymore - it's been widely reported and confirmed afaik

Budgets were so tight they had to make it 11 weeks, they wouldn't have been able to afford the normal 12 week run.

The mind boggles. We're in for a treat so with that money going to some more nobodies on a stupid chat show (cough cough Angela Scanlon)

It's a shame for it not to continue even if it is a lower budget show compared to Strictly and other DWTS shows around the world.

The pro's will have to go back to what they were doing before, still think Emily Barker is a shout for a pro spot on strictly.

People like Karen Byrne & John Nolan seem to have other dance projects in Ireland keeping them busy and Michael might continue with DWTS Poland in the autumn. I think some of the others, particularly the younger ones, might be at a loose end and may try for Strictly. I also wouldn't be shocked if Loraine auditions again to judge there if a vacancy opens up (I think she lives in London). Would be cool to have an Irish pro or judge on there, it's been a while since Tristan MacManus.

Who u think will try?

The dancers who will have more of a chance to be noticed are Burn the Floor alumni as thats where a lot of the pros who have come in recent years since Jason Gilkinson joined strictly as the creative director. It's also good to be a dancer in one of the pro's tours like Giovanni's as some of the pros have come straight from there as well.

It would be best over all to be located in England especially in London.

Still don't understand how a highly successful programme can be axed because of budget. Couldn't they have found more sponsors?

Sure Ultimate Hell Week was axed as well, as has all "on location" programming apparently so that may mean Fittest Families as well (which was fairly rubbish but UHW was class for what I watched of it)

I think because it's under the "dancing with" umbrella they are very limited in what changes they can make so unless they find a way to rehash something similar under a different name that doesn't breach contracting they'll be screwed. It's a shame, I know it's "dancing with the canteen stars" but it was a nice bit of Sunday night telly. Something really comforting about critiquing a paso doble or charleston while elbow deep in a tube of pringles on the couch.

How hard up for “stars” is this country? Calling a state pathologist associated with the most heinous crimes in the history of state, a “celebrity” is a new low even for Ireland. It’s laughable, and also wildly inappropriate/triggering for any families affected by said crimes.
100% this. She should be ashamed of herself. Fame hungry disgrace.

I’m so annoyed I got blocked by the twitter page of DTWSIRL last year for daring to suggest it was unfair Ronan keating’s kid got the gig.
If anyone reading this is involved with said twitter page can they unblock everyone who misbehaved please 🙏🙏🙏
It’s a new year. I will behave I promise!!

Yeah it was really stiff and no movement but look, first dance in a new season can't be easy. She's fit so she has to tap into that somewhere

(Said as I'm on the couch with a can of coke zero and a pack of bacon fries) 😂

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I feel ya girl! Ive the hot chocolate and baileys🤣
