One of my best friends emigrated to Oz, she’s married to an Aussie with 2 young children and now has dual citizenship. She’s thinks they have done appallingly, she said she feels like she’s locked in a prison. She hasn’t seen her elderly parents now for 2 years and if she comes back to the uk to see them she will not be allowed to re-enter Oz.

You can only be given special permission to leave if parents are dying and you have to have Gov approval. A couple of friends applied and were still denied and her mum died and she couldn’t go back to the UK 🥺.

She’s a nurse along with most of her friends and many of them are now planning to return back to the UK, she said the poor vaccine rollout was the icing on the cake.

Gives you a different perception on life over there.
All that restrictions and yet Australia have new cases and Indian variant.

Phew thanks for letting me know I will make sure I don’t go there if you NT’ers are their spreading rona (joke!)

It will be all over the NE after the BH weekend let’s face it 😂

To be fair, the borough I live in has no cases, it seems to be confined to north Sheilds, wallsend and some of Whitley bay. So I think I’m clean 🤣 I did my first lateral flow test yesterday which was negative, did not enjoy the nose part at all!

If she has Australian nationality as you have said, she will be allowed to re enter as the travel ban does not apply to Australian nationals or their immediate family members. But if they need special permission to leave than that will be pretty much impossible by the sounds of it.
I feel so sorry for the family members that have been separated due to this, especially Australians who have basically been kept prisoner as they travel ban to leave has lasted a lot longer than ours did

My 34 year old daughter had her first Moderna jab today. She's not bothered about needles, but on her way out she fainted. Five people looked after her, sat her in a wheelchair, gave her a biscuit and drink of water, then walked her to her car. She felt soooo embarrassed. Has anybody heard of anything like this happening before?

my husband fainted after the AZ one but then he has phobia of needles

Nothing to worry about. Surge testing in Indian variant areas will find more cases naturally. 889 in hospital today down 26 from last Friday. Good to be sub 900.
This is not the way the media are portraying it. It makes me angry as people listening to the MSM are petrified. Not gonna lie, so was I until I read this and you are the sensible human in my phone 😆

It could be my lacking of STFW skills but I can't find anything on that prior to September 2020 when it was used on a Peston article in The Spectator.

Is there a confirmation of the actual date of the picture somewhere?

Below the photo in the article :)
