Very few people care anymore. I think the government has had its chance to get people to comply and they absolutely spaffed it up the wall. You can see the tide turning. I wish they’d got it right the first time
I totally agree that the government blew their chance, and they lost the confidence of the people. But I just can’t understand the attitude of doing whatever they want because of it. I’m angry at the government at the moment, so much has been unforgivable but I know that if I don’t stick to the rules I’m making things worse (I’m not aiming this at anyone breaking rules for mental health reasons or to see ill family members etc, that kind of thing, but just the attitude of well the government screwed it up I’m doing whatever I want. To me it feels a bit childish and is in absolutely no way going to help)

I miss live music. We had some amazing gigs planned this year, plus download festival. Also had some musicals and shows to see. I havent been to a gig since Feb. Its been a long time.
I have been trying to get tickets for the run of Les Mis over Xmas and new year In London. I have been in the queue since midday, nearly five hours later there are still 7000 in front of me in the virtual queue. Since being in the queue I have made dinner, been out to the post office and done the weekly shop , picked the children up from school, came home and still waiting 😂

I lost faith when Dominic Cummings went on his holidays to check his eyesight around a castle.

I had tickets to see Phantom. I've been desperate to see it live for ever. We had amazing seats but they cancelled the shows 😭😭

Its such a shame ...these poor actors that have been out of work for months and no sign of most theatres returning. I just checked back...its now sold out! I’m glad I didn’t sit home for five hours waiting 😊

It would be harder for countries who are very reliant on tourism to take this approach though unless we all do and get it over very quickly though.

If for instance Spain took this route... many regions will see such immense poverty.

A co-ordinated approach would have been so much better once we knew it hadn’t been contained in China but I just don’t see it happening now.
Although Italy, which is also quite reliant on tourism (albeit not as much as Spain) has actually in some ways benefitted, the south (sicily, puglia etc) have done better this year than any summer in years

I had loads of shows booked for this year and all but one have been cancelled. Got school of rock booked for early next year but can't see it happening. I'm really missing the theatre and live music.
it is so crazy to think, I went to a concert (standing, everyone packed like sardines) in March... I cannot imagine doing that any time in the near future... but I am missing live music so much too :(

Travel ban to wales is only from high risk (top tiers) areas.... should they even be travelling at all? We’re not allowed to leave our county here in Wales. So many confusing rules! Also again.... how are they going to enforce this?! Seems very pointless and more of a political gesturing tbh

Yes but they are allowing tourists in and without a 14 day quarantine on arrival and did all summer ... if they took a total lockdown approach then all arrivals had to quarantine for 14 days (as in NZ), tourism would suffer was my point.

You’re completely right. If you’re in tier 2/3 you shouldn’t be travelling outside your area! Except for work/medical reasons.

I don’t think they can, they are relying on the goodwill of the people and that’s running out!

Im obviously sticking to the new rules, but its seems stupid that im not allowed to go to my dads house and sit over 6ft apart from him, but could go to the pub thats full of people 🤷🏻‍♀️ School kids are in close proximity, sitting together on school bus, walking home together, hugging each other (seen this today) but im not allowed to see my mum or dad 🙄
I might try and get a job where he works, i could see him then 😂

So we are under tier 3 in Liverpool but nothing has even changed apart from gyms and a few pubs closing. Not allowed to see ONE friend but you can take your kids to a soft play which is basicallly a Petri dish

So they've closed gyms but soft play is open?! I'm sorry but what the fuck? This government really hasn't got a sodding clue. Soft plays should have been the ultimate last to open surely? Do they ever even clean the apparatus?!

Yep. I went to one right before tier 3 came in and the amount of coughing and snotting from loads of kids was completely gross. To be fair they do clean in between sessions but I think gyms are WAY more hygienic

I honestly find this absolutely bonkers. It makes no sense to shut gyms but to keep completely non-essential places like soft play open? Who the fuck is coming up with these rules
