I don’t know whether there is or isn’t, my point is that there SHOULD be.

If the area is classed as “high” in cases then why should people be going on unnecessary journeys/holidays to potentially spread the virus?

If they’re going to get a hold on it they should not be travelling imo

(Whether people follow it is a different matter)
Cmon I can’t see my own extended family currently, don’t take away my family half term break!🤣

One rule I just think is a bit pointless (saw it in the NI rules) is no selling alcohol after 8pm in supermarkets and off licenses.

So if you’re going to get pissed up guys just make sure you plan ahead... be an organised drunkard 😂

Just don’t think it will deter many and I also think alcohol is being completely demonised which I’m not sure I like and does feel a bit big brother-esque (I only drink about 3 times a year so this isn’t coming from me just loving alcohol btw!)

It makes no sense does it? People aren't going to stop partying or drinking just because you can't get alcohol after 8pm

I'm down today. Literally can not see the end in sight. Sick of waiting for the contact to say a child's school bubble has burst, sick of waiting for a notification that I've been in contact with someone, sick of waiting for the government to get it together and make clear rules that will actually fucking help, sick to fucking death of it all

Exactly, I just think the minimal gain you’re going to get from that vs people feeling really quite unnecessarily restricted is just not worth it in my opinion.

People already can’t go to the pub, if they’re gonna have a party at home they’ll just buy the booze earlier in the day!

I even still disagree with the pub closures at 10 on the whole, people are getting just as pissed up but earlier on, and then because 10 is so early either gathering outdoors or going to a persons house where there are no restrictions. It’s safer in the pub if they’re covid secure 🙄 and I still don’t think there’s been any scientific backing for the 10pm curfew (that they have shared).

This maybe unpopular... I feel like you can be worried about both but worry about one over the other without being a monster. People get so arsey when anyone mentions the economy and I know the bigger picture health should be more important.

However,

There is always going to be a part of you that worries for your own needs and how it applies to you. I always feel selfish for feeling like we need to protect the economy, as people are dying which is obviously horrific and people have lost loved ones, but by the same token, if it will take 20 years to financially recover from this i will be 44. I'm a year away from finishing my degree which should lead me into my dream career and I've always wanted children. I'm effectively at the start of my life right now which let's face it, will be greatly impacted by covid for potentially the next 20 years.

the bigger picture in terms of health and people dying yes that is minor, but to me it isn't minor.

Take heart love, during the first few years of my working life we were still paying back national debt accrued from WW2. I’m talking mid 2000s so I’m hardly a fossil. And then a couple of years after that was the massive banking collapse and I saw my savings shaved in half overnight not to mention a mortgage with Northern Rock, who went bust 😅

What I’m trying to say is, there are always economic shifts and scary times. Life rarely takes the path you plot, but it doesn’t mean you can’t be fulfilled or happy.

There is such an attitude of entitlement from a lot of English tourists and their attitude on social media has been disgraceful and actually borderline racist. You have to wonder why they come in the first place?
It's not really racism if its English v Wales. It's xenophobia.

Went to ikea in Bristol it was quiet and everyone had masks on. Went into ASda home few people with no masks or ones that didn’t cover their noses. Went to primark loads with noses out or no masks and most of these people not socially distancing either. Most of these people were from the Bame community. Are they not more at risk? My 34 year old daughter was with me and she doesn’t usually worry but remarked on it. I don’t want to wear a mask any more than anyone else but if it helps then I’ll do it

I dunno, maybe it's because I am a planner but there have been loads of images of people at tesco express at 10:05pm and I am like "why wouldn't you buy booze in advance?!"

between 9pm and 6 am... what is the point? LOL.
It’s just really not sitting right with me that they are publishing data that shows that it spreads minimally in hospitality (3%ish I think was the number?) and yet this is what is being restricted and that curfews are being put in place. I’ve no doubt some people are going out and contributing by getting too drunk but is it the main cause of the spread?

It feels dishonest to ignore the spread from unis and schools and penalise other industries. I know kids have to stay in school, I want them to, but I want honestly from the government too around what is really causing the spread and why certain restrictions are implemented. To act as though the main spread is still pubs and people going out drinking is just not the truth according to the data we have seen.

I stick to the restrictions but I want to see the supporting evidence for why they are doing certain things at this point.

Thank you ❤ I know it seems irrational to worry about it and also things like that fluctuate but sometimes it feels like I'll never have kids cause I'm always playing catch up. Started uni later than everyone else, never had a relationship, just feels like I'm always 5 steps behind everyone else anyway and now there's this.

My sister is a mental health nurse, she lives in my county which is in lockdown and we can’t mix in peoples houses. She works in the next county with even higher cases. Her sons aren’t going to school, she refuses to send them, but she’s letting my brother (who thinks it’s a hoax and won’t wear a mask anywhere) and his kids visit daily, and my mum who is late 60s and has health issues and has a diabetic husband, babysits for her daily. I don’t speak to my family but hearing that made my eyes roll 🙄 None of it surprises me. They didn’t follow the rules in a national lockdown.

Yeah also to act so strongly on the sector that's causing the least spread is bizarre. it's like trying to plug the hole in the roof to keep the rain out of the ship after you've hit an iceberg.
