Our school likes to leave everything last minute.
Apparently it's been recommended down here that all schools do it but it's up to each individual school wether or not they do, that's according to a governor at my children's school.
Suppose as with all of this, it's a wait and see thing.

This is law now. Every school should have contacted parents and carers this week with their plan of action for any self-isolating student. Legally, they now need to provide the same work other children are completing in class while also having at least some sort of face to face contact over some platform during the week too. Also, contact with parents and carers during the week.

Many schools are having teachers record themselves teaching the work/method so parents can learn and teach it like kids are taught in school as a lot of the issues stem from parents having no idea about these new methods of maths and so on.

Edit: All schools had a month to get all this sorted so theres no excuse for schools not to have reached out. I would call and enquire.
I do think the government are gearing up to closing schools (if needed!) by passing this law for schools.

Just a thought, after a discussion with the other half last night... We've both worked in close proximity of colleagues who have tested positive but had no symptoms ourselves.

I teach and whilst I was a nervous wreck at the start of Sept I'm a lot more relaxed and desensitized now... BUT I am VERY stringent with hand hygiene and SD (kids are fed up of me telling them to stop as they walk up to me).

So basically what is Ying is, as long as you SD and have good hand hygiene there's only a small chance if you catching covid? This might sound obvious but it makes me feels after at work and white positive for my own circumstances.... (We don't have much of a social life anyway and haven't seen friends/family for months due to me being high risk).

I don’t want a lockdown, long term they can’t work and they do a lot of harm to society,
but the government are taking a big, big gamble by ignoring the advice here, NPHET have no dog in the fight, they’re giving advice based on figures, If the shit really hits the fan between now and Christmas, it will be the government that’s to blame, The economy is already buggered for the foreseeable, are we just going to throw more deaths on top of that.

it just feels so very wrong to ignore expert advice and i’d like to see reasoning from the government as to why they are 🤷‍♀️
because they don’t want the public to turn on them, bowing to the “anti” everything/far right bullshit 🤷‍♀️

I'd rather they act now tbh instead of waiting till it's too late, they could bring those figures well down before Christmas ...but people need money too 🤷‍♀️ They haven't officially announced anything yet.. I'm like an expectant father checking rte news 😂
 
My other half had the racing channel on earlier and there was a guy talking about level 5 restrictions in Ireland had just been announced so the trainers would not be able to go to the courses with the horses or something but I haven’t seen it announced anywhere else?

So partner got a positive test yesterday. Anxiously awaiting my results now, but pretty sure I have it since we live together and I have felt crap all day.
He was due to start his new job today after being made redundant in August, so just bloody typical!!! Luckily his new employer is being very understanding.

Depends really.
We are currently in local lockdown so havent really been anywhere except the shops. And I have been to the gym. But the gym is basically empty and they have good cleaning in place. But guess it doesn't take long to pick up.
He's lost his sense of taste and smell. And I keep going breathless and am very tired.
We are both young and healthy though.
