Has my dad's funeral today with 9 of us which is more than sone areas are permitting so was grateful fir that.
No limos no flowers but they did let ys put the chairs together in family groups.
And yes we did all hug in the car park and break the rules but we've all been isolating inside for two weeks and we all just needed the support. And tonight I'm just too sad and fed up with everything to even care.
Sending a virtual hug x

I don't - I think there will be a vaccine and hope there is ASAP, but there are viruses for which we have not been able to create a vaccine (or where it took several years to create one), in which case we would have to resume normal life without one. I think we will have a vaccine within 24 months but i by no means think we will continue lockdown for this duration, therefore we cannot just rely on the idea that a vaccine will come and fix everything.
Too true, sadly. It was pointed out on the special episode of Horizon the other evening that 40 years after HIV was first discovered we still don't have a vaccine for it. Let's hope that's not the case with COVID-19.

Absolutely everyone’s feelings are valid but I do feel like we have to look at the bigger picture here.

we are at what, 14,000 dead so far. So close to the 20k they said would be a ‘good number’ and remember when we were all like HOW CAN 20k BE GOOD? And now we’re a throw away from it.

it’s hard for everyone. It’s hard for those stuck at home and it’s hard for those who have to still go out to work. no one has it good right now in the slightest.

I just feel we need to really remember that the more we work together to stay apart, do what we can to help the economy tick over (buy from local, small businesses where we can) and just muddle through this time. it’s ok to feel tit about this situation but we do have small blessings to count.

Maybe a bit of kindness and understanding is needed. To say to people to stop moaning and to basically put up and shut up is so lacking in empathy it is unreal. The mental toll this is taking on alot of people is horrendous and like the war and other global tragedies, the ramifications of this will be felt for years. It is utterly selfish and arrogant to belittle peoples feelings and nor allow them the space to let it out. Easy to stand on your doorstep and clap for the NHS but to have a little understanding for people for people who are finding this torturous proves a little more difficult.
Omg this. If I want to moan, I am going to bloody moan in these ‘unprecedented’😒 times. One persons mountain is another persons molehill and vice versa. Don’t like it scroll past.

I did the clap this evening it was actually lovely to see faces from outside of these 4 walls and have a sense of community spirit.

edit to add: having a moan doesn’t mean you want the lockdown to end. I hate lockdown but understand why it’s necessary, I’m still gonna complain because quite frankly I love a good moan🤣

That's it!!!! Pass me a drink!! Bloody Peston! Oh look, the books that have been piled on his sofa for 2 weeks are now in a pile of the shelf!

Did you see the one last night that looked like a .....🍆👌Headed straight to twitter for the commentary on that one.
😮 No, I missed that!!

The thing I find so baffling about this virus is how totally differently it affects different people - some people have no symptoms at all from it and others die. I can't think of another virus that produces such wildly differing effects in people, every other virus I can think of seems to follow a similar trajectory in each patient.

Everything is annoying me tonight!! I'm snapping at the tv while watching Masterchef, duck off Gregg, John and that stupid voiceover woman with her irritating voice!!!!! God help me if piggin' Peston is on the news tonight!!!
peston was on tv the other night..does he normally speak like that? really slow and drawn out ..like hes explaining something to a small child or someone who doesnt speak English!

What time is Lord Trumpington on at tonight ? Or was his trucker speech earlier it for today ? Is he setting and to lift lockdown today ?

I’m going on for him tonight. He sent over his notes.

Maybe it mutates differently in every person ?
