They are being too soft and I don’t think people are listening. A lot of people thought it had been relaxed on Monday. We need Boris on tv and social media being firm, if we want to come out of this we need to get these next three weeks done harshly.

I’m still seeing people swanning around the supermarket with nothing but a newspaper in their basket ffs!

I think if a vaccine is found, it will be given to vulnerable and older people first. It is very tricky as I will not be ok with getting a vaccine that has not been extensively tested first and that takes years. There will come a point where they will gradually have to open things again, as you can't keep people locked in their houses for years.

Why do you think there might never be a vaccine? Is there evidence to state this could happen?
I don't - I think there will be a vaccine and hope there is ASAP, but there are viruses for which we have not been able to create a vaccine (or where it took several years to create one), in which case we would have to resume normal life without one. I think we will have a vaccine within 24 months but i by no means think we will continue lockdown for this duration, therefore we cannot just rely on the idea that a vaccine will come and fix everything.

Wish people would stop moaning we’re in a pandemic people are loosing their lives. Just stay at home deal with it and shut up. God

mmm yes just stay at home and shut up... how lovely. It’s not so easy. How about some sympathy for those with extreme mental health issues? Or disabilities? It’s not just a case of stay home. It’s bleeping hard and no one is taking away from the awful fact of people dying but it’s a horrible awful time and not just a case of staying in and watching tv. That sounds lovely but in reality it’s not.

Oh OK I understand - I thought you had read something to state a vaccine for this was unlikely.
I agree I think we are at least 18-24 months away from a vaccine unless they find something that is pre-existing that also works to denature the coronavirus.
Failing that, I think it would be near on impossible to have a vaccine any sooner than 18 months purely for the trials that it needs to go through.
I also agree that life cannot continue in its current state until a vaccine is found but I don’t think that is the government plan either. I think their aim with the lockdown is to buy time, both in order to flatten the curve but also to research the vaccine to try to find effective treatments and to see what happens in those countries that are lifting lockdowns.

Also I believe people have the right to moan as they are losing their jobs, or their business which they have put all of their life into and to see that crumbling before their eyes and not being able to do sweet fa about it is unfair. I agree that life is more important but we also have to remember that as sad is it is these people have died there are people left and they have the right to live. We need to remember to be kind. ( As people endlessly quoted during the Caroline flack thing it still rings true now. So by telling people to shut up is detrimental to their health and wellbeing as much as the virus. You don't like that people are moaning perhaps scroll past.

This is completely over dramatic but ‪Is there a reason they can’t give the politicians a remote so that they can move the slides on themselves instead of having to say ‘next slide please’. ‬People do it every bloody day in presentations just give them a clicker!!
It’s my favourite saying now, I randomly say it throughout the day, when I was making dinner tonight and chopping up veggies I was saying “next slide” as I put it in the pan 😂😂😂 I think I’m loosing the plot :m

Honestly the government can’t win. A few weeks ago everyone was in uproar that we needed lockdown, now the lockdown is still in place people want it relaxing. I thought it was pretty obvious things was gonna stay as the are as the deaths are still high.
I fully understand people are struggling with mental health & other issues. But think of it this way, if they was relaxed some will think thats the green light to do what they want, the virus will spread like wildfire. Then them same people who want it relaxing will then be in uproar when themselves or family members can’t get hospital treatment because the hospitals won’t have the room or staff to treat everybody all at once.

Some updates from Police on BBC news...

But the advice from police leaders and trainers says that people can move to a friend's address for a cooling-off period "following arguments at home".
It says such moves must be "genuine" and "measured in days, not hours".

There is no need for all of a person's shopping to be basic food supplies; the purchase of snacks and luxuries is still permitted," it says.

On exercise, the guidance lists driving to the countryside for a walk as "reasonable" if "far more time" is spent walking than driving.

But it adds that driving for a "prolonged period with only brief exercise" is not reasonable.

That would appear to indicate that someone who drove for an hour to a beauty spot for a walk would not be contravening the rules.

Maybe a bit of kindness and understanding is needed. To say to people to stop moaning and to basically put up and shut up is so lacking in empathy it is unreal. The mental toll this is taking on alot of people is horrendous and like the war and other global tragedies, the ramifications of this will be felt for years. It is utterly selfish and arrogant to belittle peoples feelings and nor allow them the space to let it out. Easy to stand on your doorstep and clap for the NHS but to have a little understanding for people for people who are finding this torturous proves a little more difficult.

Here we go, another 3 weeks of people trying to work out how to get around the rules.

This was never gone be a done thing in 3 weeks, this is for the long haul.

On the plus side I got to leave work early today as all the children went early and we now get to wear masks as those pesky 2 year olds don't understand the whole keep 2 metres away from me 😂
Pesky two year old not following social distancing 😂
