Just read about omicron being quick in terms if catching it to showing symptoms (sorry can find OP).

Has anyone got any sources for this? A friend tested post on 27th afget going to a party. 28th, 29th,30th lots of other guests got pos LFTs too. I didn't think they could show pos after just a day or two of being in contact? I'm just curious.
I had a negative LFT Friday afternoon. Symptoms started on the Saturday but I didn't test until the Monday when I had a faint positive.

Everyone I know who has tested positive recently have tested positive really quickly after coming into contact.

I feel for kids these days. Having to wear a mask everyday at school. Can't think of anything worse. It's bad enough enduring one while walking around my local convenience store, let alone sitting in hour long classes a few times a day. When you hear people speak about Chinese or Japanese people enduring them, I mean that's great and all, but most of the world doesn't wear a mask day to day because it wasn't absolutely necessary. Thanks to a certain part of China where authorities don't bother to crack down on exotic meat, we have to endure this tit, probably for many years to come. And yeah, I'm bleeping bitter about it.
A lot of them are tougher than you seem to give them credit for.

I was chatting to my 12 year old niece earlier about how she felt regarding wearing masks in lessons when she goes back to school this week. She said she didn't mind and that she, and some of her friends, had been wearing them in lessons last term anyway. So no change for her.

It's pretty clear numbers will start to increase once kids go back to school this week, so if wearing masks in lessons helps to reduce that, then all the better.

Keep checking for home tests, they were available earlier today. They release them in batches xxx
Thanks I'll keep checking for her

My nephew saw my mum on Wednesday then tested positive on Thursday so she must've picked it up from him. She's obviously isolating as pretty obvious from her lft that she's positive. Just hoping she stays ok and also that my dad doesn't catch it as he's not in good health either. It's a nightmare

Has anyone else been positive but still had sense of smell taste and no sore throat ?my main symptoms are dreadful chest pains ,muscle aches and fatigue .
My poor four month old ended up in a&e last night as he was projectile vomiting every feed ,he tested positive there and then sent home .
Yup! You sound like I do! Muscle pain and fatigue, oh the fatigue. I cry when I have to move. My daughter is 3.5 and has a temp and is very lethargic. No sore throat here. Wish you better soon x

Totally agree!! I think it puts them more at risk as they're constantly touching their faces....its on and off to talk to their mates behind them.....and how often are they washing their hands?? Plus how can they understand the poor teachers stood at the front of their classes in their designated boxes.....its just depressing.....my poor son hates it and I hate it for him 😭

Its so weird how everyone seems to be catching covid not long after their booster/vaccination or if they live with someone who's just been vaccinated, seems to be the case on here and with my family and friends. Me and my husband are the only people that haven’t caught it and we are both unvaccinated, don't wear masks and work in “essential” jobs so mix quite a lot.

My sister is double vaccinated ,boosted, had it before ,wears a mask and has caught it again and for the second time has symptoms .She’s been in bed for days and is normally a very fit and healthy 23 year old

Same. I find it weird that I, an immunocompromised, unvaccinated mother in her 40s, has never caught it but all my vaxxed friends have?

I thought they keep making out it’s mild! Mild as in quite sick but a step away from hospital that’s a lot of people I’ve heard of being knocked off their feet with it.

Sounds coincidental to me. Unless you're actually suggesting the booster either gives someone covid or makes them more susceptible than those who are unvaccinated?!

Will they definitely have enough tests for kids to be tested when they return? The school must have certain amounts of stocks in, I wonder how often schools get them restocked? Anyone here know?

We have absolutely loads at my school. Partly because we got a bit lax with them during October-November so the stock accumulated. We also send them out to children when needed. I'm sure theyll be in demand on the Wednesday but I think we'll be alright with it. Schools should have enough as I know secondary schools and colleges were sending them out every week, one box per household at the very least.

Obviously hard to say without evidence but personally I think the vaccine is destroying peoples immune systems and making them more susceptible to disease, putting your body through three vaccinations in one year can’t come without consequences. Ive also never met someone with natural immunity who isnt vaxxed and has caught it again. Everyone I know who has caught it multiple times has caught it again after vaccination.
I noticed the same trend when the second dose was rolled out people were coming down with covid not longer after it so paid close attention when the booster was rolled out and because it was open to practically every age group quite quickly its been more evident that people are testing positive not long after their booster.

Most staff will remove them when delivering to the class so kids can hear. I'm on maternity but I'd be bloody relived they were being mandated for lessons if I was at work teaching not ideal but so much safer. At least for a month or so
