Has anyone whose double vaccinated had lots of colds? Had one back in September then October which turned into a chest infection and now I'm feeling another one coming on. Previous PCRs and LFTs all negative. Feel like my immune system isn't what it was!

The job of an immune system is to fight off viruses and illness. Having the whole country keep away from others for so long was always going to weaken them and leave people more vulnerable to picking something up.

I still haven't been ill since January when I most likely had COVID. Double vaxxed, been goin out as usual now. Even went on the tube some weekends.
My husband has taken the tube for work since last April and works with over 800 people in the center of London.
He, like us all (touch wood) is yet to catch it, despite his workforce majorly going down last Xmas, and seeing double vaccinated colleagues going down one by one this year with covid.
He had one jab, like me - he's just caught his first cold of the passed 2 years now.
I've worked all the way through too and only now am beginning my usual autumn/winter sniffles - that's despite having a child in senior school, one who will attend any party going and another who works full time in various places

Are any of you feeling anxious about the virus or are you relaxed about catching it? I was listening on the radio today and a virus expert was mentioning how the majority of the country will eventually catch it. Not an ideal prospect, but what can we do.

Im not anxious about it at all anymore! I was for a long time in the beginning of the pandemic, but as times went on I’m not afraid of the virus I’m more afraid of what’s happening to the world, will it ever be normal again. I don’t worry about catching a flu or a cold or any other viral illness so I guess that’s why I feel no anxiety now. I’m incredibly fortunate that I’m healthy and in a position to proactively look after my health and body and so I do really trust my immune system. I can definitely understand why some people are afraid though!

Yeah I feel for the immune compromised. When I listen to the radio and hear people call in and speak about their conditions and their worries, I can't help but feel for them. It is a rough world at the best of times for those struggling with disabilities or health conditions which are no fault of their own.

Not at all I assume I’ve already had it 😂 Been to concerts, tube, trains etc and haven’t had any symptoms.

Not as much anymore, triple jabbed, work in a hospital, been out and about mask less for months. No one in our house has had it few family members have and all been ok after thankfully.

I'm anxious to be honest- we don't know the effects that this virus might have on us in the future and I'm concerned about passing it on to vulnerable family members :( I also in general would just rather not be ill and the symptoms of covid seems to be so random, I know someone who is 24 with covid and she says she has never felt this ill in her life.

Just to maybe make you feel a bit better, this might not mean that much at 24 - My husband never got real flu until he was 30 and he thought he was dying he felt so ill. Just saying sometimes if someone has never had a fever type illness it hits them like a truck, so her saying it’s the most sick she has ever felt may not mean as much as it sounds if you get what I mean x

duck sake!
Supposed to be away this weekend on a shopping trip with my daughter. It's all booked and paid for. This is her belated Christmas present from 2019. Booked with a coach company.
She started with cold symptoms Tuesday morning. Have done lfts every day all negative. Tested her this morning and line showed instantly. Just had pcr done. Looks like we're not going anywhere at the weekend and that we've lost over £200 😭

So done another lft on my daugter and it's bloody negative! The one this morning was instant and a very strong line. No idea what's going on now. Guess the pcr results will tell us one way or another
Did you have travel insurance you can claim.it back on?

I think most of us are vitamin d deficient as well from being indoors to much!
That's always been the case in this part of the world, regardless of covid

I don't think I've ever had the flu. Maybe I did when I was much younger, but I can't really remember. I've had those random sicknesses where you feel achy and shite for days, maybe a week or so, but not sure I've had flu. I can't imagine what people went through back in the old days, in ancient times when there was the plague of Athens and black death etc. Must have been awful to go through.

I am not worried. I am injecting all the good news in to my veins as it's about time we all were more positive :D

Flu is the absolute worst. If you don't remember having it, then I'd guess you haven't had it. My only memory of the flu is the beginning bit wondering what the hell had hit me, then wishing myself dead. I don't even remember going to the loo for a week. The recovery after was also a killer, it must have been a good month before I felt myself again 😫

I have had random colds here and there since my initial COVID bout in March of 2020. I don't know if it is part of my long-COVID or what but no one around me has been sick and no one gets sick from me. I have no idea where these two day annoyances are coming from!

I am so scared for my Moderna booster appointment tomorrow that I don't think I will be able to go!

Doctors to be forced into deprived areas and boosters not being taken up

Is it possible to get flu mild, the same as some people get these virus mild?

Some will argue you can, but every Dr will always say that the difference between flu and a heavy cold is that if you saw £50 on the floor then with a heavy cold you'd go pick it up. With the flu you wouldn't care it was even there.
Personally I think when people describe mild flu then is a heavy cold. There are differences between the two illnesses
