It doesn’t always work like that at all. Look at Brooke Vincent’s boys.

I know a pair of brothers with a mixed mum and a white dad. One child is dark with brown curly hair. The other is white as anything with blonde hair

Just had a look and they both look light skinned imo. Every single person I know who has a mixed parent and white one has pale or very light brown skin, much lighter than both Rubys.

It’s not a simple equation. My neighbour as a kid had a very light skinned black husband and she was white. Both had tightly curly hair. One kid came out very light with silky straight hair and the other was much much darker than the dad with curly hair.
In my case my kids are all white but completely different skin tones to each other. One gets asked all the time what their ethnicity is because of their unusual colouring combination.
It’s pretty random as far as I can see how kids come out!

My partner and I wish (in jest) that we had a tv kid sometimes so they would be quiet somewhere for ten minutes. Tv kids are just perfectly self regulated ignored children aren’t they?!

It is completely random.
Not sure if any of you watch Teen Mom UK but there’s a child on there with a mixed race mum and a white dad. She’s as dark as her mum

There’s another little girl with a mum who is a quarter black and a mixed race dad so black ancestry on both sides. The child is white and very pale
