So in Gemmas house they got 5 kids who they'll be getting child benefit and working tax credits for, likely Aled gets DLA and 2 lots of wages plus Gemmas making money on the side babysitting. Its not like they spend money on buying nice things for the house is it. Where does all the money go? How are they so poor?
 
I feel like they are throwing too many heavy storylines at viewers simultaneously. They need to focus on one and do it well than doing so many at the one time. It’s not making coronation st gripping to watch, it’s making it a chore if anything. There needs to be some light and shade but there’s very little of that right now.
 
The show is a joke these days. If it’s not rehashed old storylines (Stephen is basically Richard Hillman part 2, despite having been a perfectly nice normal bloke in the past. So yet another personality transplant there as well) then it’s issue driven stuff to grab headlines. Completely shoehorned in using characters acting against type. This is a classic example of that. Eastenders is so much more watchable these days. Why did ITV let Kate Oates leave for the BBC? It’s no coincidence that EE suddenly became watchable again when she arrived. Why did they let Daran Little go? He knows Corrie inside out and would be the most amazing EP if ITV were to let him do the job. If I were in charge I’d axe half the cast. They have some great actors like Carla, Peter, David but far too much deadwood who wouldn’t even get a bit part in a Crimewatch reconstruction their acting is that shite.
 
The Amy storyline would have been better with a new character , still could have done the same consent stuff with a stranger she meets on a night out or a new friend of the group. Plus it would stop us from seeing whiney Summer.
I can't see Aaron coming back from this so I'm assuming he will be leaving the street

I think the point of this story is that it isn’t a stranger rape. As someone above said it brings up others not believing it was rape, even the rapist themselves. They genuinely think it’s been consensual. The majority of rapes or sexual assaults are not stranger rapes, they’re a partner, husband, friend.

Yeah I did say a new friend to the group would have worked

They should have had Jacob be the attacker since the actor was leaving anyway. Would have been better than his dad storyline.
