I wonder if Paul is going to get in a bad bad financial situation (high interest rate loans) & this injury meaning he cannot work, low mood/depression & also family problems, i.e. Gemma's family struggling financially, then a situation like the one currently running in Emmerdale with Paddy?

I know a lot of the time soaps etc end up running very similar storylines. However I'm sure it was recently said that Billy had a huge storyline coming up.

I know this has been done before in Corrie with Aidan, however this could be to show the real life statistics on male suicide

I know it’s unlikely but I would like to see Amy speak to David or Carla regards the rape, David perhaps more so as it’s more similar in regards drugged/drunk but Carla is family.

I think Paul is going to get into huge debt and this might backfire in regard as to a compensation claim. He may still get a payout but it may be greatly reduced as surely any half-decent solicitor would argue he was in desperate need of financial income and possibly exaggerated his injury. Also is there not an issue with Dee Dee been part of the firm Peter’s nephew runs? Is that not a major conflict in interests?

Or even Toyah. She was attacked a fair few years ago wasn't she and she's a Counciller.

That was on classic Corrie last year. Ironically Peter was under suspicion for it but saved Toyah from the attacker a second time. I really shouldn’t watch classic Corrie as it really shows how bad sine of the writing is now. That had a clear balance and stories were character led and allowed to develop gradually and realistically over months.

I think going by the circumstances Paul will end up in serious debt, his compo won't match his debts and he will end up in a mess.
Yet again a hard hitting storyline due to the cost of living crisis, but I can't help think it's maybe a bit too much. We use these soaps as a guilty pleasure, a getaway and our bit of tranquility... Being reminded constantly of the doom and gloom of life is draining. Also, if Paul does end up in debt, he'll admit it and some how be cleared within months like Sean. Not realistic at all .
