I’m laughing that tomorrow is my first day of annual leave, and his last.

I’m off for the week and back on the 30th. I like to keep my days off to use to travel as much as possible. I’m a complete homebird but the idea of taking a week off to sit indoors doing nothing but wrapping cat presents and list bit to rats scratching would drive me insane, and I don’t live in a shoebox.

I have very much designed my life around calmness but when I hear someone say, "Don't stress" I always think it sounds so judgemental... what they mean is don't stress about something they wouldn't stress about. And it's easy to say no to stress if you aren't grieving, if you aren't trying to create magic, aren't caring, cooking and keeping an eye on anyone.

Stopped in France for a meal on my way back from the German markets today, had a charcuterie platter as a starter. It had 3 cheeses on it, no blobs of pickle, but did have pickled carrots and salad in the middle, prosciutto, salami and bavarian ham and pate. Not one cheese, some salami straight from the packet, a dump of Branston and Ritz crackers. But best of all it was served on a board not a home bargains gingerbread man board which is meant for serving cakes/gingerbread. He is such a moron he gets absolutely everything wrong
