I think it was Jane Hazlegrove who played Dixie in Casualty. She has played two characters in Corrie, Sue Clayton part of the unpopular Clayton family, and Bernie, Gemma Winter's mum.

I really did think she was the one playing the sister.

I was really impressed with her posh voice too! Weren't even her! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I loved Brookside, I wish one of these millions of channels would show it from the beginning!!!
Britbox are showing it

But only selected episodes. Like it says there are only 8 episodes
I was watching old The Bill episodes on the Drama Channel app a few years ago and it used to show up only certain episodes but when you got to the last episode, it would show you more. Or maybe once they snare you in after the free trial, it would let you see more.

I subscribe to Britbox and there genuinely is only 8 random episodes

The Bill on the UKTV Drama Catch up app is different as they are showing every episode continuously on the Drama channel like they’re doing with Classic EE so there will be lots of episodes in order

Long gone now are Phyllis and Percy, Mavis and Derek. We hardly see Jack and Vera, Emily et all. They are modernising it with newer characters, Nita, Vik, Debs, Becky, Gwen, Bobbi, Douggie. None of these are remotely interesting or memorable. Yet stories are constantly based around them.

The actor playing the private detective on modern Corrie tonight - isn't he the same actor who played the taxi driver Jez made Steve hire, who he's just laid off?

Seems I was right. In fact, he's played several different roles on Corrie throughout the years, according to Corrie fandom:

Steven Hillman (born 10th October 1965 in Middlesbrough) has appeared in Coronation Street in six roles:
