Ohhh I was never saying it was rubbish just that it must take quite a lot of proof (I would guess the CPS would need people to come forward with texts, emails or numerous corroborating witness statements of Cheryl telling people in writing Liam's not the dad but she's going to go ahead and name him on the BC anyways) to actually convict someone in court
Look at Jeremy Kyle when that was on wrong person named on the birth certificate left right and centre, if the police even took an interest in this and went after someone for a conviction, I'm sure the accused would just say they were in full belief they'd named the correct father and that would be that unless there was some other aggravating factor like kidnap or embezzlement
