Obviously Ekin Su's star has fallen with the ITV execs and they could have given her a more favourable edit for sure, however she's caused all this herself. The only way for her to have not got into this mess would have been genuine from the start, but she went in playing games from the first night and never stopped. That got her caught out with the viewers, then got her caught out with the house mates, and has caught her out in the live interview which fair enough there were some hard questions and people can be unhappy about Leyton's comments but in the initial interview even when it was clear they were going to pick her up on inconsistencies she kept plugging on with her lies about nominating Louis etc.

If she had just held her hands up and said 'it was a game, I tried to play it but it didn't work, that's why I nominated Louis' etc. I think things would have gone better for her.

Totally agree but just don’t think she has the capacity for this.

I still don’t like pile on or think it’s merited.

I guess that’s the thing I don’t like about reality TV in general. People’s careers and reputations can be built up beyond merit or ruined. This can be 💯 by the production team.

Sad that the likes of Matt Hancock and Farage come out of it so well.

She chose to go on shows that are filmed 24/7 and the public only see 1 hour of. I think when she’s talking about this in relation to big brother without knowing what has actually been shown is because she’s so shocked she has been evicted and not won it and so in her head she’s decided she has been given a bad edit. Therefore, she thinks she’s blameless and has done no wrong.

I really don’t have any sympathy for people who go on these type of shows.

I haven't watched but have followed some of the discussions. Why has no one considered that her PR equivalent (fi she doesn't have PR) may have told her what line of argument to go with? Didn't someone post on her IG story recently about the editing too

IMO - L & L just purrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeee awkward on all parts

ajs and wills interviews make me want to just mute it’s awful it ain’t great
 
I've just replied on the strictly thread to someone who said Layton "ripped into" Ekin Su

I hardly think one comment is ripping into someone. But then I'm in my 50s and I realise life has changed so much and normal everyday conversations are now much more DRAMATIC!!!

But getting back to Ekin Su, this lassie plainly believes she's a wonderful, funny, witty, talented person and the only reason she's been voted out is because she's had a bad edit!

It can't be because she's come across as 2 faced and thin skinned. No it must be because of the edit 🙄🙄🙄
 
Layton was asked his opinion and gave it. It’s hardly bullying or a pile-on. People are too precious these days.

This 100%

People will complain that it’s nothing like it used to be but they’re the reason for it. Old BB was far worse in terms of calling people out.

Of course in her case her difficult personality earned her nominations! Most didn’t nominate her though.

That’s not my point though. My argument is that her coverage was manipulated (so stilted in was blatantly obvious!) to make her look so much worse. I get these shows need to be edited and have the drama of baddies but it insults the viewers’ intelligence and can ruin careers.

Anyway- it’s a gorgeous day and I need to feed hungry children!

True. I do wonder whether 20 years later newcomers to BB would enjoy it in its original form, for instance not being able to get online to ‘discuss’ what is going on. I think there was limited online goings on, I do remember hearing that Nick had been removed from the house in Series 1; this was at lunchtime and I heard the news over the radio whilst in a shop, no mobile phone in those days so ran back to work to share the news. No one knew anything, where I worked we had one computer with internet access, huge lines around said computer for the rest of the day.
We can sit around and hope but we’ll never see the likes of that again.🤫

So pleased Ekin is out. I can’t believe I was a fan when she was in Love Island 🙈 That was the best Late & Live episode since the show has been on ITV. But I wish the format was like before, where they evict and do the interview straight away. Especially in the case of a double eviction because the first interview time makes the housemates feel safe (insert evil laugh) for the 15 minutes because they think it’s all done and dusted for the night. I guess doing the interviews on the next show guarantees viewing numbers though.

Re Ekin-Su, without wanting to sound too deep about the whole thing, I actually think she doesn't know who she is iykwim. Hence the complete lack of authenticity.

I know I said it before but I thought she was trying from the beginning to get screentime by chatting to the well-known celebrities, Fern, Sharon and Louis.

She dropped Louis like a hot stone, when she heard the booing for him. I am still curious about what he wanted to say to her as they walked along the corridor after the last lot of nominations. She just brushed him off.

Her reaction to Marisha sealed her fate as regards eviction. It will be interesting to see if she gets more tv work. I only knew who she was because she was in Dancing on Ice. Although I believe she was in Love Island too. 😉

Oh how did you know ES was in Love Island? She barely mentioned it in the house!

I‘m really showing my age here, but when she mentioned Love Island I imagine the housemates would groan internally. It reminded me of Johnny Briggs TV show in the 80s. One of the kids on there would say “my mum….who’s a nurse” and the whole class would groan cos she said it all the time. ES is that girl 😆

And absolutely fair play to him! He could win now to be honest. He's certainly more entertaining than anyone else.
