She's currently doing a Q&A

Kind of over-explaining (as she does) about why they eloped!
Just admit it Carrie. Your family could see the tit show that is your relationship, so you had to run away and do it.

they break up, she'll just tell another story like "I was taken advantage of and talked into getting married in a moment when I was very vulnerable. He should have known that I wasn't emotionally capable of making such a decision." That's 100% how it's going to go down because let's be honest: it's not going to last long.
Ifs more when they break up. If she stays married to him it will be from pure stubbornness.

I feel sorry for her that being married was the ultimate goal to be reached in any way possible

I guess it's no different to being in a soap for decades, or even office work staying at same level doing same job. Some people aren't ambitious, or just like getting a good steady income for relatively easy work. Especially when you don't know where the next role is coming from.

I disagree somewhat, as at least in a soap every day is varied. Soap actors have progressive storylines and film different scenes each day. As an MT performer (in a principal role) in a West End musical, every time you go to work it’s exactly the same.. and I can’t imagine there’s much you could do in 12 minutes of stage time to vary your performance too much.

And, to be honest, it’s kind of a profession you do because you love it. At least it should be. I’d be bored shitless after a year in that role tbh.

I wonder if that’s why he still casts himself in his am dram shows a la Shrek so he can feel fulfilled.

ETA: typos galore in here oops sorry I’m at work and trying to be sneaky

It would be weird NOT to cry at your wedding tbh (as long as it's happy tears ofc).

She really needs to stop over-explaining the whole wedding ceremony thing. Just say (even if it’s bullshit) that you wanted to have that moment to yourself and look forward to the party with family and friends. This whole spiel about not wanting to be emotional in front of family and friends is not the cute, relatable take she thinks it is. It’s a variation of Not Like Other Girls.

True, but actors do the same role for years all the time, so not sure why Joel being singled out for that tbh.

There's been Phantoms, Christine's, Valjeans for example who did multiple contracts, returned to roles and even went on tour. Wicked also had long running cast members, Sam Barks in Frozen now in her second year. And you also get ensemble actors who stay with roles for multiple contracts and they have even less to do a lot of the time.

Since covid we have also seen actors take on lesser roles due to needing work (e.g. Earl Carpenter going from Javart to the Bishop).

Or she could just say she liked the romantic nature of eloping. There's so many other ways she could say it without over explaining and over compensating

Her explaining her choice of wedding is giving ‘say it one more time and I’ll believe you’

I don’t believe for one tiny second that she’s too worried about getting so embarrassed that her throat closes up. I’m literally the biggest tit house introvert ever, but when I got married there wasn’t a single other person in the room who I acknowledged was there other than my husband when we were saying our vows. Maybe the correlation of embarrassment stems from the person she chose to marry and that’s why she didn’t want others there…

What is it with her about being emotional when she cries every time she sees the Disney castle and films it?!

I don’t see the issue in her eloping but her reasoning for doing it is so stupid and obvs trying to hide the shotgun wedding vibes 😂

I’m considering eloping due to the stress of planning a full on wedding and the money coz weddings cost sooo much, I’m not doing it to stop my family seeing me be emotional coz it literally makes no sense! Crying at a wedding is expected and no one is going to think any sort of way about it apart from “Aw that’s so cute”, there’s no need to perform front of your family 🤔! Even if she said we wanted it to be just us and celebrate later with our family would make more sense than this performance excuse 😂
