Godawful matching sweaters. Is the D for diarrhoea?

Has anyone been to Efteling theme park in the Netherlands? Some say it's better than DLP. Never been to either.

Went lots when I was younger but want to cavaet and say not been in 10 years but I loved it as someone whos into theme parks. Great theming throughout and lots more rides and pleasant experience than DP offers.

Id say DP is good especially if you love disney and / or have kids, but as someone whos in their 20s now, I sometimes go with my friends but we stay outside the park area a few stops down the metro/train line and usually tie it in with a day in actual paris. We also did all the rides as we never do character visits or general shows in like 2 days max and that also included going on rides multiple times. We mostly bought food at supermarket near hotel and ate on the go and had maybe one meal there as honestly the food is so overpriced and basic.

Meeting the characters at the restaurants looks supremely awkard. Trying to small talk with an actor in a mouse costume.... I can´t.

I´ve been to DLP once, when I was 14, but I´m not a theme park/Disney theme park person, so it just felt kind of meh - it was also raining and cold the day I went. But I think I would have felt meh over Disney World in Florida, too. Never interacted with any of the people in costume. Not for me. Not interesting.

When I was 11 my grandparents took me to DLP and bought me a Micky Mouse book for the characters to sign. Did I get a single signature, did I bollocks!!! My grandad said it was because I was a nobody and wasn’t in a wheelchair 😳

He was such a miserable bastard we left him in a McDonalds outside the park on Day 2. I wonder how much a meal at the Cinderella restaurant would cost? All the food at the park is stupidly expensive like €12 for fries.

DLP looks bleak, man. I went years back in Feb and it was just too cold to enjoy outdoor rides and everything looked drab. Indoors was packed as everyone was bloody frozen. The food was shocking and overpriced even then. I didn’t see anything really to sustain an adult (without kids) interest for more than a day. One to tick off the list? Alton towers is more stimulating.
Just me. I find it weird that people without kids would want to meet the ‘human’ characters also. Like what do you SAY to them? At least kids believe it’s Rapunzel and pleasure can be gained in their wonder. Adults?
Don’t get it.

I've been to DLP twice - once when I was around 8 or 9 with family and then as part of a school trip to Paris when I was in my early teens.
I had a great time on both occasions, but I can't really remember the park itself. I think the first time I was age-appropriate, and the 2nd time was more due to being with my friends and the fact we could roam the parks without adults 😅

what a shame, when was this? I went to DLP as a 6 year old or something (in the early 2000s) and had my book filled with character's autographs and pictures when I saw them at the parade. To be fair I was a really quiet and shy kid so my parents had to imitate the signings but they said it was worth it because I was in awe seeing and talking to the princesses and characters.

I have a friend who did it for a summer and he said if adults approached them without kids, they'd try to avoid them 😅
Pretty sure this isn’t true as you have to queue to meet all characters at Paris or book a restaurant to see them and they have to go to each table. I am enjoying how everyone seems to have sudden inside knowledge on DLP and how awful it is 😆😆😆
