In light of the rings it seems likely they could be eloping, no??? The wedding has to be in the next six months but likely much sooner. One of their ‘holidays’ they’ve mentioned a million times could be an elopement. Especially if it was on their first anniversary… or maybe in March when they first ‘re-ran’ into each other again.

On the first pic on the right hand side of the image, a woman is emotional and happy her partner proposed after 7.5 years dating. On the left someone saying anything longer than 1.5yrs before proposal is an insult. The comments (2nd pic) are mostly saying 1.5yrs is way too quick.

My friend who is getting married in March (to the person she’s been dating for 8 years and living with for 3 and a half) picked up her wedding rings yesterday, I can’t bleeping believe Care Bear is at that point already lol.

Also, OT question but I’m not British and English is not my first language. What do you mean by eloping? I thought it meant fleeing with someonw you love without necessarily getting married and without anyone else knowing about it. But everyone knows Shrek and Carriona are engaged and planning a wedding.

Omg yeah. That actually stood out to me about one of her re-introduction to herself videos (I added it below). When asked where she sees herself in ten years she replies she wants to "be married". That such an odd way to phrase it, in my opinion. Obviously getting married one day can be someone's goal, in general. But she doesn't say, me and my boyfriend would like to get married at some point, we'd like to settle down and get married, me and my boyfriend want to start a life together and get married... or anything like that. Which really does make it seem like she's had a slot for "husband" open all her life, and Joel is the first guy who has agreed to fill it. Neither when she made that video or right now does it seem like she wants to get married because of how much she enjoys her current relationship/loves her partner. The goal is just "get married".

(She actually says "to be married, in a house of my own", which is an even weirder way to phrase that. It's like she thinks of acquiring a husband as comparable to buying a house. It wouldn't even be her and her husband's house, then, she'd just buy a house and put a husband in it).

Nowadays, I've known couples get engaged and say they want to elope meaning they want to have a wedding with just them and the officiant as well as couples who eloped without telling anyone they were getting married (including my godfather who had been with his then partner/now wife for thirty years when they decided to get married!).

I can't help but think how different all of this would be if she was marrying Oliver. Not that Oliver wanted to get married or liked attention, but her attitude would be so different. She'd share everything, they'd spend a long time planning. It's so obvious that she's scared that if they lose momentum, she'll have second thoughts and be back where she started literally this time last year.
