She went to prison

I don't have a long term health condition so I'm not 100% au fait with the NHS, but do they often spring appointments on you at short notice? Wouldn't she have known about this appointment before she planned the week's deliveries?

Vaguely possible that she has a short notice appointment for a ten minute 'this is how you self inject a biologic with a pen device' with the nurse. They're optional because they're piss-easy to do.

But IT'S NOT bleeping CHEMOTHERAPY

Wouldn‘t have thought so and she’s been wanging on about it for weeks now. If the appointment is for is an infusion of biologics no idea why it would take the whole day, the one I get takes half an hour, plus twenty minutes or so for admin etc.

Also, Carly, as you’re reading here- THIS IS NOT CHEMOTHERAPY. It is a biological therapy, a wonderful thing that is designed to treat your illness and make you feel better. I’m half expecting her next selfie to be her in a headscarf 😡

Edit- x-post @TheDragonWithAFlagon!

Why does she need to be there? She has enough flying monkeys willing to do her bidding, I'm sure any of them would be happy to do whatever needs to be done.

To suddenly let down someone who is expecting emergency food is disgusting.

I don't believe the hospital excuse, I wonder what the real reason is. When she took a photo when she was at hospital recently that was at St Margaret's in Epping. While not in Harlow it only takes 20 minutes to get to, even less if the traffic is in your favour.

Not a good enough excuse to cancel food that has been promised to desperate people.

Are the delivery drivers also going to the hospital? Is there nobody else to pack the bags and do you leave it to the last minute? I'm willing to believe she has health problems but as someone with health problems of my own I've had to learn to plan around them where possible and not to commit to anything where people are going to be relying on me for something as important as food. Why is this entire operation in a state where one person going to an appointment - something they do regularly and which is expected to happen - can bring it all to a halt at such short notice?

She's mentioned appointments at the Royal London before, that's an hour and 15 by public transport or if you drive, it's an hour to 2 hours depending on traffic.

The way she treats vulnerable service users is disgusting, and I hope a journalist picks up on that as well as the the money.

At this point it's hard for me to believe those vulnerable service users are the priority for Carlz. This is about her feeling benevolent and getting praised for her very public "charitable work." The benefits issue has been brought up a few times in various contexts and I think that running a food delivery service of this sort is the kind of thing you cannot and should not decide to do if you know you're too ill for regular work, because it's not something where not doing it has no consequences or only has consequences for yourself.

I'm sure it feels great for Carly to boast about "fighting" and "helping others" but there are ways to do those things without leaving people suddenly without food. Does she think those people aren't truly in need of the food, or that they'll somehow find more (thanks to her complete lack of signposting efforts?) if she cancels on them? This is not helping anyone, this is actively preventing them making other arrangements because you told them they'd be getting food delivered to their door (FOR FREE) on Friday and now that's suddenly impossible.

There's a bit of me that actually hopes this is just a scam to provide her mates with free food, because the alternative - an unreliable, humiliatingly public excuse for a food bank that regularly leaves people in the lurch - is worse.

I do question how many people actually rely on her. Even if she was reliable and did that delivery on Friday, how helpful is it actually to get a delivery once every, what, six weeks? If you were genuinely in need you’d go to the food bank and get food there and then. These deliveries seem like nice little extras. From what I can tell it’s all snacks anyway
