Brummy Mummy #179 How many couch ads can a couch potato make?

Oh good!
A boxing day haul is incoming 🙄
Because a load of boxed up generic thoughtless crap isn't enough on Christmas day - they'll go to the Sales and buy more,,,,,,,,
I guarantee there'll be :-
- Christmas Cards & Wrapping paper for next year
- Bath Bombs
- Facemasks
- Other greetings cards
- Boots No 7 crap
- Clothes for the kids that don't yet fit
- Candles
- More Toiletries

I heard that list in her voice 😂 I love the birthday/Christmas present videos, even she doesn’t seem excited by most of it.

Exactly this! It’s so depressing, the last thing I’d be wanting to do on Boxing Day is buy wrapping paper! It’s not like they are all strapped for cash, or have massive families with hundreds of gifts to wrap. Just more mindless consumerism. Get an actual hobby ffs!!

Oh come on, be fair. If she didn’t buy wrapping paper on Boxing Day she wouldn’t have her November content of not remembering where she had put it and all her sheep hilariously messaging ‘up your bum’.

Why does she seem to think that because social media "didn't exist" in 2008 when she got married, that she and everyone else just has 4 photos of their day??
Does she not know how long wedding albums have been a thing and they aren't solely for the purpose of social media??? I didnt spend a fortune on a wedding photographer to take photos for my instagram account 😂😂
Do her parents not have a wedding album?? I'm so confused as to her thought process here.

She doesn’t know what a wedding breakfast is, does she?! 🤣

When she says this I always think she's saying the wrong thing! Social media certainly wasn't what it is now, but 100% existed. What we didn't have was everyone having fairly decent cameras (smartphones) in our pockets 24/7 like we do now, taking constant pictures and videos and WhatsApping or posting them! I got married in 2018, and the following couple of days I was bombarded with WhatsApp pics as people went through and sent me their nicest ones! 2008 plenty of people would have been at a wedding armed with a digital camera, so I expect loads of her guests have/had pics of her wedding on old SD cards somewhere in a dusty drawer- SHE just hasn't seen them because they weren't sent to her, not because they don't exist. And they definitely weren't all posted to instagram with #EmmaFinallyTrappedOne for her to see! If she'd thought to ask her guests to email her or Ste any nice pics of the day, she'd probably have more than 4 pics to trot out EVERY bloody year!!

Yeah we all had the little Casio camera that went everywhere with us.

I also had an actual smart phone in 2008 (I think I got it the year before too) the first Google phone, way before iPhones came out, and Facebook was 100% a normal everyday use app, I met my husband in 2008 so remember these things clearly!

This bad boy...

Maybe I’m weird, but if you were filming messages to send to your followers, paid or otherwise, wouldn’t you make an effort to do it when you wouldn’t be disturbed? And redo them if they didn’t come out right?

Why didn’t she do them last week when the kids were still at school? She really can’t be bothered to do more than the bare minimum can she.

What in the world are these sentences?!? There’s terrible grammar and then there’s Babs, on a whole new level of her own 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️
What did you do nice?!? Whaaaaattt?!?!
And you watched them Babs, past tense. What a tool.

Oh and on a separate note - you could actually join in and be part of the experience, the fact that you can’t or don’t want to (and not just this one, cos I’m sure we all have the odd thing we are happy to let the family do without us, but with her it’s ALLLL the activities!) should ring warning bells about your attitude to your family and/or your health/lifestyle. And don’t take the piss out of your husband and kids for enjoying things, as loser-ish as it may be, because you’re meant to love them and support them, not humiliate them to thousands of people because they found a few minutes of fun. Hope that helps 😘

Facebook was huge in 2008. I know because a friend went travelling that year and I followed his journey on there!!
It baffles me that she associates having no decent wedding pics with not being on Social Media! She's a big fat living proof of how people are now brain washed into thinking that all social media platforms are the be-all and end-all of everything!
Actual physical photos are worth so much more in terms of importance and sentiment!
