This thread has been argumentative and unpleasant because people are constantly being pulled up on their opinions and distaste.

I made the rave thread for people who don't want to read upsetting opinions about Britney Spears. It that's you, go there. If I bowled over to the Becki Jones thread telling everyone how 'inhumane' they were, I'd be ripped to fucking shreds.

Everyone is allowed an opinion but there's no need to make people feel like they're committing some kind of criminal act just because they call it as they see it.

I went on a nostalgic listen to her first 2 albums recently - I played them on repeat as an 11 year old.

I hadn’t quite appreciated how young she was at her peak - not even legal to drink in the US when slave4u came out!

I find it interesting now how all the themes she sang about then are still pertinent to her life now. It’s all about how she wants to be loved, or wants to be free to be herself.

It’s sad she’s still basically that 19 year old who wanted to be allowed to wear tight skirts and have a hot guy notice her.

By the way, I know this is Tattle, but I'm not cool with the "she'll be dead in a bath like Whitney" comments, either, as I don't wish anyone dead, even if it's black humour.
Here, here. I was a huge Britney fan, and am under no illusion that she is clearly very unwell and the conservatorship must have been in force for very good reason. But I do find it distasteful how those remarks are flippantly thrown around.

So put the posters, including me, on ignore or just scroll on past. You're on tattle. This thread is tame as hell compared to some of the others, Katie Price's thread comes to mind.

Wishing somebody dead and talking about potential death aren't the same thing, let's be clear about that.

Kippers fred is brutal. However, rightly so in that case. Britney is no where near the narcissist wench that burst baboon butt face is.

I hoped the book would be a turning point for her. Unfortunately, she's still spiralling. When I was younger when I grew up I wanted to literally be Britney. Despite my flaws and vices I am glad to be me. Seeing how some of the young starlets struggle/struggled I'm glad I never pushed my wean into drama or musical theatre, etc.

But that's it, isn't it. It's a matter of opinion and perspective. That's what this website is about. We can't take the moral high ground on this thread and happily rip someone else to shreds on another, and vice versa.

That thread is a riot though 😂😂

That's what I meant when I said it's been argumentative and unpleasant, it's the people that have come on here since the book release in defence of her and shaming people for their opinions, it's led to nothing but arguments, I've never seen it on any other none rave thread.

Exactly. And I understand that some people won't like being told to take it to a rave thread. But I genuinely made that so that frictions would ease here and everyone would have a safe space to talk about this.

I dare anybody to go to the KP thread and tell them all "she's got mental health problems, her exe's abused her, don't be so cruel" and see how that goes down 😂 because they would absolutely not stand for that shit on that thread. I kinda knew this would happen as the book launch approached.

Right? Or like I said, the Becki Jones thread. Pop in there and tell everyone to be kind and see how long you last 😂

Exactly. Different people have different communication styles, some will say "sadly I don't think things will end well for her", others will be more direct. It's been said here several times already. I don't see how people got that the poster was wishing Britney dead from that comment

I mean there's even a death pool thread! Britney is mentioned alot on there, but if you mention her possible demise on here then you're a terrible person!

We can only guess whether a person is gleefully wishing it or exhibiting "black humour", as I also said. There's no nuance or emotion applied to the written word. Let's not argue with each other. I doubt most decent people would hope for the worst.

I find the vast majority of Tattlers to be fair-minded and compassionate - you do get the odd new member who probably thinks they have to be as inflammatory as possible to fit in (or maybe they really are that hateful), but that's up to them. Tattle gets an unfair press, I reckon.

Just finished it.

It felt rushed and storytelling-wise, not very skilfully done. I also got the impression there was so much missing about her family and just how all that toxic dynamic was created. Facts were there, though. I know it's only her perspective but that's what's been missing all this time. Didn't realise Justin Timberlake was quite such a turd, although the "secretly watching the ex who looks like Britney in the shower and tricking her into watching his new sex tape" video always felt creepy to me.

I feel like she kept the family stuff to a minimum to avoid any potential legal action taken against her for things written that she either cannot or will not prove.

Britney in her prime was one of the best performers in the business. Not singer, but performer. There's nobody around right now who does what she used

Read the book and thought it was dreadful. It was written in the style of a teenage annual and leaves so much out. It could have been one of the best books of the year.

Also can't bear the way she writes in her southern dialect about putting on her dress and 'little bitty heels'. She's a grown woman fgs. She writes about this when she met media executives at the start of her career, then she describes how she hates that the men leer at her - well I knew at the age of 16 wearing a dress and heels would get you attention like that, she can't be that dumb.

I don't know if Britney is a liar or has a loose grasp on reality (probably both) but in the book she says she's terrified of snakes and what we supposedly don't see on screen is that this snake hissed right in her face just before she performs but we see her pick it up here and the snake did no such thing.
