Bisonettes Battle the Bulge

Hello bisonettes! I know this Fred is a bit quiet but I would love to get some support. Getting married in just over a year and I would really like to not be a big back becki lookalike in my photos...

I'm about 16 stone now, 5'5", early 30s. Proper hate weight loss chat with people who don't know the struggle, also with people who have absolutely no humour about it.

Done slimming world, had a good group when I started, the leader was just like all the other ones (horrid) but it was near my office in London so all the other women had a similar lifestyle to me and weren't like, twice my age! Then I moved to the burbs and my local group is hell, full of old ladies and people who just lose and gain the same pound over and over and are brainwashed that ten Muller lights a week is better than half an avocado.

Anyway, I love cooking and this may be my downfall because I hate making stuff and it turning out tit (diet food). I swim but apart from that have a sedentary WFH lifestyle.

Started mounjaro a month ago, only my fiance and my friend who referred me know I'm on it. Sick of the judgment from people who say they're 'losing weight naturally'. Anyway I'm 9lb down since starting injections. Had a gain last week because I went to Amsterdam and Dutch people seem to subsist on cheese and deep fried breadcrumbs. Must be the cycling!

Sorry for the essay but I'm here to chat as an actual fat person!!

Thought I’d join in.. I’m also on Mounjaro and it’s literally changed.. would I go as far to say saved.. my life.

I gained a lot of weight due to depression, and then the weight gain the added to the depression! The depression did start to lift naturally on its own but I seen all the positive reviews of mounjaro and how it had impacted peoples mental health in a good way, so the main reason I started the jab was because of that!

The weight loss has been slower for me, I’ve lost 2st since start of June and I’ve never had any big losses like I’ve seen a lot of people have. In-between now and then I’ve been to three weddings (luckily no funerals!), a festival, mini breaks etc so had weeks where I’ve not lost, and had one week where I gained.

I know this isn’t a mounjaro rave thread but I’ve seen people on this thread debate the jab and honestly if it’s affordable for you, my advice would be do it. Weight loss is hard no matter how you decide to do it, so congrats to everyone on this thread!

Ty to the bisonette who recommended the pinch of nom creamy garlic chicken, I made it tonight, swapped the mushrooms (foul) for leeks but was v tasty for me and my fiance cooked it and liked it too!

I forgot I owned that cookbook from back in my SW cult days, was the only one I didn't sell on eBay.

Hello Bisonettes, I’m now bloody buzzing to say I’ve lost over 6 stone since January
Calorie deficit, lower carb, low fat and high protein.
My back, hips and knees don’t hurt like they used to and I can get upstairs without feeling like I’m going to pass out I’m exercising daily and really proud of myself.

I eat a lot of meat, fish and eggs and steer clear of bread, potatoes and pasta and other carb heavy veg and fruit.
A typical day would be something like this

Breakfast - Turkey bacon or bacon medallions, two eggs (poached are my favourite) tomatoes and spinach.

Dinner - Chicken/fish and salad/veg

Tea - Chicken/Steak/Fish
(Just normal home cooked meals with lean cuts of meat and plenty of green veg)

I have a protein shake after exercising with a handful of berries and seeds to get my fibre intake up and I have 200 Kcals for Snacks in the evening.

Sounds lovely. Thanks for sharing 😊

And plenty of water, weighday is a meal of whatever I want (that’s when I have a pasta or dish with potato) and a couple of treats all within my calorie allowance.
It has been hard some weeks but I had to change so doing that on a Monday helps a lot.
No gym either just walking and doing various workouts from YouTube (bit like Becki 😂)

I’m on it now. Wanna look good for Xmas. 4 lb off this week so far not cutting out carbs but definitely reducing a decent amount although I know some of tht might be water weight so far.
